This was so not going my way. School was going to end in about two and a half months. And I had yet to get him to ask me out. There was no way I could do this, could I. I was out of time. If I didn't get it done by the end of school I would have to wait for next school year.
I had all these thoughts just running through my mind when he came up behind me. he tapped me on the shoulder, getting me to jump. I turned towards him and you were laughing. His adorable laugh.
"Omg, Luke you scared me half to death. Don't do that again." I was trying to be serious, but failing badly.
"Sorry Annabeth, I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's ok, so what up?"
"Hey I was just wondering, do you by chance have a phone?" He was so scared and nervous asking.
This was kinda what I was waiting for. Wasn't it? He was asking for my number, right? I was hoping I knew where this was going. We would text, and maybe hang out. And then he would ask me out.
"Umm, yea here give me a mintute and I'll write my number down." I hurried to find a piece of paper and a pen.
When I finally found them, I scambled down my number. God I had used the worst handwriting, hopfully he could read it. When I handed it to him, a smile shot across his face. It showed how shiny his teeth were.
"Thanks." This was the only thing he said before turning away and walking out the school doors.
It took about two days, til I finally got a text from him. I was just laying on my bed walking t.v. when my phone went off. I jumped up to reach for my phone. When I read the number, I was confused. But when I read the text, the first thing I did, was save his number.
Hey, It's Luke. Is this Annabeth's number?
Hey Luke, yep it is.
So what's up?
Nothing, how about you?
Nothing.
Oh fun.
So do you by chance wanna hang out?
Sure, when.
Let's go to the park tomorrow.
Ok I'll see you then Luke.
See you Annabeth.
That was it. I was finally getting so close. We were going to hang out. Now I knew that I was going to get him to ask me out. I may have been a little kid. But I knew what I wanted. I wanted him to ask me out. I hadn't known, what I know now. But I was going to be thinking about you for a while.
