Peeta And Katniss (Random)

"Mom?" Willow says from upstairs

"Yes?" I answer

"Rye's up again and he won't go back to sleep"

"Tell him to come downstairs, ok?"

"Ok" She answers walking off to get her brother

I look over at Peeta who's drawing at the table. He looks up from he work and smiles

"Another dream I sopose"

"Yeah, brace yourself " I joke even though it's not funny

Rye, our youngest child, has been having some weird dreams lately and I'm starting to get worried

After all I mean look at the dreams Peeta and I get!

I just stand and look into Peeta's eyes while awaiting the dawn of Rye

Peeta gets up from his chair and hugs me until we hear whimpers coming from the stairs

Peeta looks down at me

"I've got it"

I smile and let him go to Rye, after all he's better at comforting than I am

"Hey bud?" I hear him say "you alright?"

Peeta picks him up and ruffles his messy blonde hair

"I-I had a bwad dweam .." he sobs while wiping his nose off his sleeve

Peeta sets him down on the counter

"What was it about?" Peeta asks

"Bwad tings" he still can't quite say words right but anyway

"Like what?" I say

"Der where pweople ther and they were not gud pweople"

"What were they doing?" Peeta says concerned

"I-I don't know" Rye says looking at the ground "but mom?"

"Yes?" I answer trembling

"W-what are the unger games?"

I freeze, even though it wasn't clear I know what he meant, and I'm not ready to explain to him without killing him with fear

I can feel Peeta tense beside me

"There..uh" I try to answer but I can't

"We'll tell you when your older" Peeta cuts in " now go back to sleep ok?"

Rye nods and Peeta brings him to the stairs while kissing his forehead, I just stand there frozen

When Peeta comes back he looks terrified and I feel the same way

"He had dreams about it.." I mumble

I put my face in my hand and start to slowly cry

Peeta approaches me and pulls me into his chest

"Shhh" he says "it's ok"

"He had dreams about it!" I cry harder "what if he has more!"

"He won't, its ok, it's ok"

"Peeta he's 5! He's to young to.."

I'm cut off by Willow

"Mom? Why are you crying?"
