"So you do know each other!" Haneul shrieks. I groan miserably, reaching for my hat but Mr. Creep swiftly avoids me and hides it behind his back. He then smirks at me and looks into my eyes. This time I don't feel butterflies, I feel pure rage.
"Yah!" I cry, standing up and balling my fists. Mr. Creep looks surprised but he just smirks again. If you don't leave me alone soon, I swear I'll punch that stupid smirk right off your perfectly symmetrical face. He watches me surging with fury and raises an amused brow.
"What's wrong cutie? Are you not happy to see me?"
"Ani, of course I'm not happy to see you! Why are you following me?" For a moment I notice his smile falter at my harsh words but he soon begins to laugh. Really loud. So uncomfortably loud that it sounds almost fake. A few tables turn to look at the unfolding scene. Haneul shoots a few quick glares at some nosey customers before focusing her gaze back to me and him. Then, as if he didn't just cause a scene he looks directly into my eyes. My breath hitches and I can't seem to move. His eyes look mysterious. I feel nervous. He looks scary.
"I told you, I'm fascinated with you, didn't I?" He asks in a dark, low tone. I gulp and begin to back away from him slowly. He doesn't follow me however. My heart beats violently. I look to Haneul with pleading eyes but she doesn't know what to do.
I hear him chuckle and my head shoots up to look at him.
"Did I scare you?" He asks, trying not to burst into a fit of giggles. Realization strikes me and I almost smack myself out of embarrassment. He did all of that on purpose. He wanted to see me mad. He wanted to frighten me.
"Yah!" I scream, "what do you think you're doing? Give me back my hat and leave me alone! Stop following me! Just get lost!" I yell at him. I don't know why but I'm close to tears as I rip my snapback from his grasp and shove it violently on top of my head. His cheery smile is now gone and he looks almost hurt by my harsh words.
"Cutie, mian I-" He begins to apologize but I rudely cut him off.
"Stop calling me that, okay?" Shock consumes his expression. Crap, that's right. He's probably older than me. I shouldn't be using informal speech.
"Well then what do you want me to call you?" He asks in a soft tone taking a few steps away from me to give me some space.
"Nothing! Absolutely nothing. You know why? Because after this we're never going to see each other again. So forget it!" I shriek. I signal Haneul to follow me as our order number is now being called. She nods and begins walking with a worried expression on her face. I just shake my head. I proceed to walk past Mr. Creep, bumping into him on purpose. The young man grabs my wrist and turns me to face him. I glare up at him. His eyes look sad.
"Aish, you," he says softly, slightly loosening his grip from my hand. I try to wriggle out of his hold but he's firm enough to keep me in place. He looks into my eyes and I gaze back into his. My face begins to heat up. Why are you doing this? Just leave me alone.
"Why can't you just tell me your name at least?" He asks in a sweet voice, "why'd you have to go and make a scene?
I look down at the floor. I can tell my face is red. He scoffs.
"You really are a cutie aren't you?"
I hear Haneul gasp excitedly and I shoot her a quick glare.
"I told you to stop calling me that," I say with a threatening tone while raising a fist. He grabs my arms and holds both of them above my head with a sly grin.
"Okay, then tell me your name."
I sigh. He clearly isn't showing any signs of giving up and this is really starting to make me uncomfortable. If Dohyun were to see this mess, both of us would be dead.
