Dinner

I woke up to the moonlight shining in through the window and bouncing off the mirror causing the light to dance around the room. I was confused at first, as my eyes adjusted to the sun and I started to take in my surroundings. Then my mind flashed back to earlier in the day as the feeling of hopelessness returns. I lay back down, trying to think of a new way to escape when there was a loud knock on the door that echoed through the room. I sat, silently staring at the tall ceiling.

The door clicked, as the lock was undone and light from the hallway flooded into the room. "You have been asked for dinner." The man at the door says. I ignore him and keep on as if he wasn't there.

"Miss, he will get angry if you do not come down soon." He explained, sounding somewhat worried that I'd disobey. I turn slightly, sneaking a quick look at the man, whom I soon assumed was a butler, working for Harry. He was old, maybe around about 50. He was very well dressed and well groomed. He gave me a small smile, as he gestured for me to follow him. Too, tired to argue and not wanting to have to deal with Harry's temper, I push my weak body of the large bed and slowly made my way out the door and towards the dining room. I am led down the hallway and down the main stairs to the ground floor. I flinch as my bare feet hit the cold marble floor.

I enter a large dining room, there was a large table with opposite ends set. It didn't seem necessary to be sitting so far from each other. Although, I didn't want to be anywhere near him, so it was fine with me. I took my seat, and soon Harry appeared, quickly walking into the room and taking a position opposite me. He called out to someone and told them that we were ready. As soon as he enters the room the whole atmosphere changes. The food is served up and placed in front of us. He told me to eat. I just looked at the fancy meal, not wanting to eat anything that came from him.

He starts eating when suddenly he looks up and sees that I haven't touched my food. "Eat." He says in a husky voice. I ignore him and keep looking down. He starts to get angry. "Eat now, or you won't eat again till I decide." He states, angrily.

Out of fear I timidly pick up the fork and start pushing the food around the plate. After I had been shifting my food around for about ten minutes, he gets furious and slams his fist down on the table and demands that I eat. I jump and slowly start eating, taking small bites.

"You'd better get used to following my orders. I don't tolerate disobedience." He says.

I nod while looking down, avoiding eye contact and trying to minimize the amount of interaction we had as much as possible.

"There are rules that we need to go over, but not now, now I want to get to know you." He says, looking at me.

I looked up, making full eye contact with him. We both stare at each other."there's not much to "Well, there's not really much to know. I say, as I staring at him. "I'm boring," I add, looking down again.

He stares at me, apparently not liking what I was saying. We ate in silence after that. When the dishes were taken away, he continues to stare at me before speaking up. "I want to discuss the rules since you don't want to talk about anything else. So, you may not leave, ever. You are mine, and I will do with you as I please. You will do as I say. If you disobey, you will be punished. The punishment will vary in severity, depending on the "crime." If you cooperate, your life here will be perfect. But if you continue to disobey it will become quite uncomfortable. It's up to you."

I just nod. Not wanting to talk to him. "You will be rewarded for good behavior. Rewards, again, depending on what you do to deserve a reward. Your rewards will get better as I get to know and trust you better. You have your own room, and you may get whatever you like for it; however, you may not leave the house, and you must be supervised when using any electronics. Any other questions, you are to direct them to Charles. He will be assisting you while you adjust to your new life here. That being said, I have work to do, so, you can go back to your room for now."

He stands from the table stalking off to another room. I sat silently for a while, taking in everything he had said, as the entirety of this new life I am now living.
