I haven't did a short story in a while, but I'm bored. Read this and tell me what movie inspired this... 😭😭😭

"Onika lift your head up and listen to the man while he's talking", my mom said. I slowly rose my head while sneaking in an eye roll. It was a little after 10:00AM on a Monday morning, and I was honestly beyond exhausted. After spending nearly all night fighting my fiancée off of me, I barely had the chance to sleep.

It seemed as soon as I could doze off, Travis was smacking me in my face to wake me up and let me know that he was leaving to go to work.

Right after he left, my mother barged into the house demanding that I get dressed to come and meet with the wedding planner to go over the final touches. I didn't understand why she needed a key to my home anyway, but since Travis paid all of the bills, he insisted that she had one.

"So for the food, Onika has decided on the steak, chicken, and lamb chops", the planner said.

My mother shook her head, interrupting. "No, you can't do two red meats. One is enough because Travis will be inviting all of his elite friends from the business industry and you know most of them aren't too fond of red meats. You have to use your head Onika, you're going to give Travis a bad rep already".

"Well turkey, chicken, and steak it is. Now did you make a decision with the dress"? I nodded my head, "Yes, I'm going to go with my first choice".

My mother shook her head, "No, we're going to go with the second choice. That first dress shows too much cleavage and I know Travis wouldn't be happy about that".

I smacked my lips, "It's about what I want". She looked at me, "That man is writing the checks, so it's really all about him".
