she slammed her locker shut and jay strutted behind her with a pleading voice.

"riley, please. it's the biggest party of the year," she whined and riley shrugged, holding her chemistry book tight against her chest.

"i told you, tonight is not the night. i'm not going to ashton's party." riley said back and jay rolled her eyes.

"he's your boyfriend for crying out loud."

"that doesn't mean i have to go to every party he throws, now shut up he's coming."

"hey babe." the tall blonde with dirty blonde curls smiled at riley and pulled her into him. she forced a smile up at him and he kissed her cheek.

"so, ashton," jay sang, shifting on her feet and crossing her arms over her chest, playing with the metal on her lip before smiling. "your little girlfriend here refuses to go to your party." riley glared at her best friend before turning away.

ashton frowned and looked down at riley.

"why?" he pouted and she shrugged.

"i'm just not feeling it -"

"oh c'mon," michael, riley's brother, chirped in. "you can't miss your own boyfriends party." she rolled her eyes.

"you're only saying that because if i don't go, you don't get to go?" riley cocked an eyebrow and michael shifted on his feet and shrugged awkwardly.

"maybe..." he mumbled. riley nodded.

"you can't do that to your brother, he's finally getting his social life on the go!" jay piped up, michael glared. she sighed.

riley unwrapped herself from ashton and started walking down the halls and towards the exit of the school, they ran off behind her.

"only for you michael!" she screamed before jay came next to her and they got in her car, driving off.
