Lance's POV

"uh guys!" I heard Johnson yell from afar. I take my earphone. My eyebrows raised themselves in curiousity. Johnson sounded worried, so this can't be good. With the baby in my arms, they soon became slightly sore. The baby wasn't that old, but he's become much much heavier since his birth. I strapped on a baby carrier and softly placed the baby's delicate body in it, tightening the grip and strap once he was in, to keep him at bay.

"Let's go see what the fuss is about, hey?" I say to the baby and he coos, looking straight at me with his big blue eyes.

I heard another yell. Johnson.

"Guys! Where are you?" He yelled repeatedly and I walked around the halls of the hotel, eventually bumping backs with him. He was sweaty and worn out and his face was red.

"Dude, what's wrong?! Calm down," I say, rubbing his shoulder as he struggled to breathe nicely, being out of breath.

"You have the baby! Thank god. I-I, I've been running, from those things! They're fast in here! I- Nicole! Cass! Where are they? Lance!" He said, in between pants. He checked the baby's face.

I was slowly processing what he said. Was I thinking things? Did I not hear him correctly? "Those. They're in here?" I whispered.

"Yes, Lance. Please, get to safety. I'm trying to find the girls right now. I know Nicole wouldn't want anything but for the both of you to be safe" he says softly, still breathing heavily.

"Be careful," I say. He looks at me with sympathy. Again telling me to go, I run with the baby. I currently had two pistols, an AK-47 and a dagger. It was hopefully enough for me to use in order of self defence. I hum to baby Jack and it keeps him calm. I didn't want to go to our bedroom floor so I hid in a supply closet. It had some food, bedroom and bathroom items contained so I would be okay here with the little one, and if he gets hungry, I can feed him milk that Nicole had given to me and maybe I could find something around until this is all over.

Speaking of food too soon, Jack started to whine. I do not know how long I could be stuck here with him so deciding what's best, I tried to keep him off of the milk for as long as I could.

Seven minutes.

He continued to weep and weep, and infected finding us both is not at the top of my 'to deal with' list right now. I pulled out the milk bottle from the baby carrier pocket, and Jack started to settle. "Okay, here now, here now-"

The closet room door bust open, making me jump. Jack started to cry, it was one infected. It retched some liquid from its mouth and spread is arms to reach for me and the baby. As I sat in the side of the room, I struggled to reach for my dagger since the baby was in my arms. Pushing myself up with the strength I could use, I backed into the very very corner of the room and on my two feet, I put jack's head over my shoulder and applied pressure to the back of this neck and partly his back to assure he wouldn't fall. I was about to turn sideways to pierce the dagger through its face, but I was beat to it when a person had kicked it down with their foot, stomping on its mush skull .

"Ah!" Nicole cried, as she was covered in blood. Tears fell from her face, and she wrapped her arms around me, but kissing her son's forehead.

"I was so worried about you, Lance. I'm so glad you're okay," she said to me, wiping her eyes just to swear blood on her face. "It's infected blood. There's so many, Lance. I've never seen so fucking many,"
