Chapter 8: The Choice

Rey's POV
Over the next month and a half, Ben and I spent our days at the beach, just enjoying each other. I grew to love Ben more and more each day. I felt like we were married. It felt good not to have to worry about the Resistance and relax all day with my love. One day, BB-8 woke me up. There was a hologram message for me.
I hit play and it was Leia.
"Rey please come home to us, I don't know where you are, Poe wouldn't tell us anything except you took a ship and BB-8 and went away for awhile. We miss you Rey," she said in tears now. "We all do, and we need you Rey."
I thought for a minute about my hologram response. I hit record.
"Leia, I miss you and everyone else at the Resistance, but I've found my place, Ben and I are living together and we want to stay here together forever. We love each other and I think my place to stay here. If Poe wants BB-8, then he can come get him. I will send only him the coordinates of our planet. Ben and I are very happy together here, and we want to be alone together, so please just leave us be." I hit send, then I heard Ben start to stir in his sleep. I decided to not tell him about Leias hologram or that I had sent one back. I hopped back in the bed and pretended to be asleep.
   The next week, I was sick every morning.
"Are you sure we don't need to take you to some sort of doctor?" Ben asked concerningly.
"I'll be fine Ben," I insisted, as I rubbed my forehead.
"What could it be?" Ben thought. The shock both hit us at once.
"Could you be-"
"I don't know-"
"There's some tests in the bathroom, go check,"  Ben suggested.

Ben's POV
I waited outside the door trembling. After what seemed like forever, Rey came out the door with the test in her hands. I looked at the positive sign on the results.
"Congrats Rey!" I yelled excited. I had always wanted a little kid running around.
She looked excited but her smile was weak.
"What's wrong Rey? Are you excited about the baby?"
"I'm ecstatic Ben, but there's something I've kept from you since this morning," she said. She called BB-8 over and he played a hologram from Leia. She wanted us to come home.
"I want to stay here with you Ben," she said ," but I might die if we deliver the baby by ourselves without medical assistance and doctors. I don't want to risk the baby or me. I think we need to go to the Resistance just for the pregnancy then come back," Rey said looking at me with hopeful eyes.

Rey's POV
To my surprise Ben replied.
"You're absolutely right Rey, your health and the babies is my priority, and I want whatever you want Rey. We'll leave tomorrow," Ben said then kissing me.
"Thank you Ben for understanding." I said after we pulled away.
He had a warm smile on his face as he put my hand in my stomach.
"I can't wait for our baby Rey."
   The next morning, the sun had barely risen above the horizon as Ben carried out luggage to his ship.
"I'm going to miss this place," I said looking out at the beach. "It was pure paradise."
"We'll be back after the baby is born," Ben said. I noticed nervousness in his voice.
"Ben what's wrong?" I asked. He was silent for a moment.
"I'm nervous about going back to the Resistance. Everyone will either lash out on me or be scared of me."
"No they won't," I said ," you've changed, you're not Kylo Ren anymore." He smiled as he loaded the luggage in the back of the ship. He pressed the button so the ramp would fold down. We walked up the ramp, but someone grabbed me. I looked over at Ben and a storm trooper was holding him down. I tried to move, but my stormtroopers grip was too strong.
"You are under arrest by the First Order!" He shouted.
I shot Ben a worried look.
"FN-7895, let General Hux know we got them."
