(A/N, you might want to go back and read chapter two again, because I know it's been a while but I have also slightly tweaked some things. Not enough to change the story, but enough to make the chapters consistent where they weren't before.)
We all went back to our meeting spot from this morning and Sensei told us that only I was allowed to have lunch. I know Naruto and Sasuke failed, but they haven't had anything to eat today. They should at least get a little food. Although...
Sensei told me that if I fed them, I would fail too. I thought that was particularly stupid because he left an extra lunch.
"Ugh, that stupid Sensei doesn't know how to make a test! I'm so hungry and he told me not to eat today, I feel tricked."
"That's because you were tricked, idiot."
"Would both of you shut up? I'm trying to eat."
"Hey (y/n), why don't you give me some of your food to eat? I'm starving."
"Naruto, sensei told me that I couldn't feed you. Even if I really wanted to, I couldn't. Nice try, though."
I took a bite of my lunch. I knew that I didn't really want it, and I had already eaten this morning, so I could just give it to him, if I wasn't so worried about failing. I thought about it for a while. Would I really fail just to feed my teammates? What if they hadn't had anything to eat for a few days? Finally, I remembered what I had thought earlier today. I had told myself that I wasn't going to be intimidated by Kakashi Hatake, and here I was, worried about failing his stupid test. And then I decided.
"Actually Naruto, here. Have my lunch, I can't finish it because I'm full." His eyes immediately lit up.
"Are you serious?! Thanks (y/n), you're the best!" I untied him and he started to wolf down everything in the box.
I took the other lunch to Sasuke. "Here, eat it." He only stared at it, and then turned his head.
"Hmph."
"Oh, what, so you're too good to eat food now?"
"No, but I obey the rules of being a shinobi. You should do the same."
"Alright, I get it, but you should really eat. I could probably hear your stomach from a mile away. If I have to shove it down your throat, I will."
I tried to give him the lunch again.
"(y/n), I don't want it, so just leave me alone."
"You know what, fine." I turned to walk away, but as soon as he relaxed himself, I spun and took hold of the tip of his nose. He gasped for air and I shoved some food into his mouth. Once it was past his teeth, I put the box down and placed my other hand over his mouth so that he would have no other choice than to chew.
He swallowed, and I removed my hand.
"Good boy," I smirked. He finally gave in and finished the rest of the food I gave him. A few seconds later, we all heard a loud rumbling noise in the trees, and then a booming voice.
It actually scared the shit out of me.
"YOU BROKE THE RULES, NOW PREPARE FOR THE CONSEQUENCES!"
Sasuke and Naruto looked like they were ready to piss themselves.
Kakashi sensei spoke again. "Do you have any last words?" So I decided that enough was enough.
"Yeah, I have something to say." Naruto and Sasuke gasped. They looked from me to sensei, and then back to me.
"Yes?"
"You said that the three of us were a team. You said that ninja who break the rules are scum, but ninja who abandon their friends are worse than scum. How can you fail us when we worked together to gain our strength? How can you expect us to just sit back and follow your stupid rules when our teammates need us? You said we should work as a team and that's exactly what we did. We worked as a team because we are a team."
"Oh? Is that so?" Kakashi's eyes closed. "Well then, since you're such a great team..."
We all feared the worst. Sasuke had an apprehensive look on his face.
"...You pass."
I'm pretty sure Naruto fainted. Sasuke finally spoke after the last five minutes of being silent.
"We pass? What the hell kind of test was that?"
"It's simple. You didn't follow the rules and you put your team first. All of the other teams I've had followed my rules exactly. They didn't have minds of their own." He continued. "So, you pass. Congratulations, you're on Team Seven, and our fist mission starts tomorrow. I expect you to be up bright and early and meet here."
He turned on his heel and started walking towards the village.
"I wonder why he's such a jerk. What kind of person makes a test like that? It's like he likes seeing us struggle," said Naruto.
"Hmm," Sasuke hummed, "I wonder what kind of person Sensei really is."
Honestly, I knew this little conversation was going to turn into some kind of plan. I didn't know what kind of plan this would be, and I didn't know what was going to happen, but I did know that I wanted to be a part of it. I wanted to know who Sensei really was, and I thought that maybe if I knew who he was as a person, I'd be able to see through more of his traps and tests. They say to keep your friends close and you enemies closer, but I don't know what they say about teachers. "Well, Sasuke, you sound like you have an idea, so what is it?"
"I say that we follow him and watch him. We'll find out more about him that way."
So I would say that it's a bad plan on account of the fact that I didn't think of it first, but it's actually okay. Follow Kakashi Hatake, hopefully learn some juicy secrets. It's fair to say that the appeal of this makeshift mission is too much, and that even if it ends in failure, at least we attempted.
Naruto looked all ready to go. "Well, what are we waiting for?"
"We have to hurry up and go. Everybody ready? (Y/n), you have skills in stealth, right?"
"Yeah, but how did you- "
"Sensei told us about you before you joined the team. And Naruto, please try not to mess anything up, okay?"
"You got it, Sasuke! Now let's go before we lose him!"
So Sasuke led with Naruto filing in behind him and I followed in the back. It was interesting to see how Sasuke and Naruto interacted because of how much Sasuke seems to hate Naruto. I mean, he just seems like he always has that dark, brooding look on is face and is constantly annoyed, even when Naruto isn't speaking to him. But when Naruto is speaking to him, I dunno, it just seems like it's fake. I don't think he really hates Naruto. I just have to figure out why he's putting up a stupid facade.. Maybe he wants to be friends with Naruto but doesn't know how to approach the subject? And I also have to figure out why Naruto doesn't seem... Nine-tails-ish. He just seems normal, aside from his hyperactivity and his loud mouth.
And I still have to find out why I was switched from another team to this one. Iruka Sensei told me that Kakashi might explain.. So this mission might just yield all the information I need.

So it's been a hot minute, yeah? Don't worry, things will get a bit juicy in this next chapter, because there's gonna be action, there's gonna be revelation, and there's gonna be POVs. I hope that anyone who reads this book is really patient and likes it enough to wait for the next chapter because I'm slow at updating and I can realize my weaknesses, but fear not, I'm working on it. Also, any ideas for what's gonna happen?
Will Kakashi be who you expected? Will you find out why you're on his team? Find out next time on Does Anybody Actually Still Read This Book?
Alrighty guys, see you later.
