Surprise!

Hey guys! It's Georgia and I have a surprise for you!
The author of My Sister's Best Friend offered to do a Q&A when I told the that we picked their story! 
So hers is a QA with the author brookeallyson254

Q1- Where did you get the inspiration for the story?

A1- The inspiration for the story came from a song called 21 Summer by Brother's Osborne. I'd been playing with the basic idea for a while and when I hear that song everything clicked for me.

Q2- If you could change one thing about the story what would it be?

A2- If I could change one thing about this story it would be how quickly it moves. I wrote it while I was in summer classes at college and didn't have time too much time to write a longer story.

Q3- Which character was the most fun to write? The least fun to write?

A3- Maddy was the most fun to write!!! She is snarky and rude and I loved getting to play around with her attitude for life versus her brother's, even though they have the same background. Hmm the least fun to write would probably be Peyton! She's a baby and doesn't do much haha but I felt she needed to be around a decent amount to show how Finn's life is different from anything Westlyn is used to.

Q4- Did you put a part of yourself in the story?

A4- Westlyn wants to travel and learn from the world. i want that myself too. This is the only part of myself that fell into the story.

Q5- When did you start writing?

A5- I started writing when I was 16 (I'm now 23) on a different website.

Q6- Was writing a dysfunctional family difficult?

A6-  At times it was difficult to write a dysfunctional family. Mostly because I wanted to be dramatic but also realistic and sometimes that is a hard thing to balance.

Q7- In the story Westlyn and Maddie are best friends because they don't talk about their lives. Where did that idea come from?

A7- The idea of Maddy and Westlyn not having a traditional friendship came to mind when I was thinking back to high school in general. So many times we head off to college and forget about the people we called our best friends. Maddy isn't a typical teenager she has a lot of things going on in her life and didn't need or want anyone until she met Westlyn. Westly was an easy way to keep herself safe but also find a friend.

Q8- Laney and Finn had Peyton and broke up before the events in the book happened? Are there any plans to write a prequel regarding that story?

A8- That would be an interesting idea!! Everyone hates Laney so much that it would be so fun to write their story. I would consider doing a couple bonus chapters of that (If people were interested) but not a whole story.

Q9- Is there any real life people who inspired the characters?

A9- No. Some traits I'm sure were passed on from people in my life to the characters :)

Q10- Are there any secrets/ fun facts you'd be willing to share about the story or characters?

A10- Some secrets about the story are that I almost stopped writing this story. I was discourage by my low numbers of reads and some not so nice comments. I'm so glad I kept writing though!! This was my first story on Wattpad so I learned a lot about the process!

Another fun fact is that this story was never supposed to include Peyton! It wasn't until I sat down to write the story that she showed up and became such a big part!
