I walk back to my room after grabbing some pieces of fine paper, an envelope, and a fancy pen with black ink. I sit at the vanity, pushing the makeup and hair products to the side and lay out my items. I begin writing to Lexi, in print of course since Lexi couldn't read cursive yet.
Lexi, I promised I'd write you, didn't I. Well, first off, the food is amazing! I have never tasted anything so delicious. The castle is beautiful and Prince William isn't so bad. He's not who I thought he would be, but I'm still not attracted to him. Don't get too excited but I have gone on a date with him already and we are going on another tomorrow. I'll keep you updated. Love you and wish me luck, Evelyn.
I neatly tuck the letter into the envelope and seal it with wax. I write both her and my name on the front and my home address to send it to. I hear a soft knock at my door and sigh. I had half a mind not to answer, for fear it was the Prince.
"Evelyn, you in there?" I hear Scarlett's voice from the other side of the door.
I open the door and smile. "Hey, thought you were someone else for a minute there."
She laughs. "Prince William, maybe?"
I motion for her to come in. "Yeah, but I don't ask him to come, he just shows up. And I don't even want his company, I promise I'm not trying to steal all his attention, he just-"
She laughs. "Evelyn, relax it's okay." She makes her way to my bed and sits. "I didn't think you were, but its fine if that's what you want."
I violently shake my head. "No, no. Scarlett, it's not like that. He demands my attention because he knows it irritates me."
"Okay, I get it." She looks around, observing my room. "It's nice, nicer than mine."
I sit next to her. "Yeah, its way nicer than back home. So, what did you come here for? Not that I don't love the company."
"I am just curious to hear about the date. And thought that maybe you might spill the details about the kisses."
I groan. "Do I have to?"
She nods eagerly. "Yes and I want to hear every detail." So, that's what I do. I tell her about the first kiss and she laughs at me. "So it was in his room! I knew it!"
"Uh...ok, so maybe...just maybe it was. Don't tell anyone. I don't want drama to stir up."
She squeezes my arm and I finish telling her about the second kiss. Afterwards, we chat before she politely dismisses herself. The rest of the day passes by swiftly and I would catch glimpses of William, sometimes I would see him staring at me, a small smile playing at the edge of his lips. I would smile back and hurriedly glance away. By the time night comes, I exhaustedly change into my night dress and plop down onto the bed and fall into a deep sleep.
The next morning, I awaken to the bright sun in my eyes through the open curtained windows and a light knocking at the door. I shove my covers aside and swing my feet over the side of the bed. Thinking it was Scarlett, I delicately walk over to the door and open it. Of course luck was on the opposing team and William stands in the doorway, arms crossed leaning against the frame. He looks me up and down before grinning a big, face splitting smile. Any girl would swoon given that perfect, straight white teeth grin; but being me, I simply crossed my arms and leaned against the frame as well.
"Nice PJ's, they look sexy."
I furrow my eyebrows together. "I'm sorry to disappoint you, but they're not pink footies with bunnies and cute animal slippers."
"Actually, I half expected you to wear pajamas like that but..." he features to my night dress, "this surprised me. It brings out your form and...it looks good."
