**Evelyn's POV**
My hand hovers a centimeter away from the hard wood, uncertainty causing me to hesitate. I knock three times, lightly. It was early morning and I know it was wrong to show up this early but I had to have answers. He opens the door and I can see something shimmer in his eyes and quickly disappear. "Sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not Rachel."
"What do you want, Evelyn?" His voice was laced with frustration, anger, and...hurt?
"Can we talk...for a minute?"
"I don't have time, Rachel and I have a date."
I sigh. This wasn't supposed to be this hard. "Just five seconds. I just need to talk, to have answers."
"Evelyn, I can't." He walks back inside, attempting to close the door in my face. I put my foot in the way to keep it wedged open and follow him inside.
He finishes buttoning up his cotton, orange striped polo and I grab his sleeve desperately. "You can't or you won't?" Several moments of eerie silence pass between us. "Please William just five seconds."
He spins on his heels and jerks my hand off of his sleeve. "I said no!" I flinch away from him. "Go, leave."
I slowly back up towards the door, my eyes blurring up as tears threaten to spill over the edges. My mouth gapes open, silent words dispersing through the air. A million thought ran through my head, anything to get answers and save me from humiliation, but nothing came out. "Please..."
"Now!" He points in the direction of the door. "There's the exit and don't let it hit you in the butt on the way out." Years slowly trickle down my face as I walk out of the room.
Standing outside the door, the tears plummet to the ground and soak my face.
**Prince William's POV**
I plop onto my bed and run my hair through my hair exasperatedly. I hated to do this to her but I had to make her come crawling back to me and beg for me back. But I don't think she was playing this time, I saw the tears she so desperately tried to hold back and keep top secret. I sigh as another knock comes to the door. It was probably Rachel already here for the date. I open the door to see a note laying immaculately in front of the door with beautiful cursive printed on the envelope with me name on it. I grab the envelope and sit on my bed, ripping it open and holding the letter preciously as if it would break in my hands. I unfold it and look to the bottom of the note: Sincerely, Evelyn. I look to the top and begin reading.
William,
Meet me at the spot where we first met. I think we need to talk and I'm s-just meet me there at 10 tonight, please. Sincerely, Evelyn
It was tempting but I couldn't ditch Rachel on our date because who knew how long we'd be out and honestly, our date was more important than me getting yelled at by Evelyn. I place the letter on a dresser and grab my jacket, I was going to pick up Rachel.
**Evelyn's POV**
At 9:50-I know I was early and I felt stupid that I was so desperate to talk to him but I couldn't help it-I stand in the exact spot where we first met even though we shouldn't have. After standing there for who knows how long, I sit on a bench across from the spot and watch for any sign of someone coming. At 10:30, I was still waiting-I know, it was stupid of me but part of me wanted me to keep waiting for hope he would come even though the other part of me knew he wouldn't show. It begins raining but I still sit on that bench, watching...waiting.
**Prince William's POV**
It begins raining and Rachel and I begin running back to the castle for shelter and protection against the rain. It was 11:15 and I find myself constantly thinking back to the note. It was too late but not like she would still be waiting anyway. Rachel attempts to kiss me but I turn my head in avoidance. She bids me goodnight and leaves hurriedly in embarrassment to her room. I felt kind of bad but I didn't want to kiss anyone until I got a real kiss from Evelyn. I make my way to my room and lie down, sighing deeply. I get up and grab the note off the dresser, throwing it into a waste basket. I wouldn't be needing that.
**Evelyn's POV**
After it finally reached 11:30, I gave up and went back to my room. Lynda gasps and hurriedly runs some hot water in the tub. The whole bathroom was steamy by the time I got undressed and sat in the tub. My eyes were puffy and bloodshot.
Lynda sits on the toilet. "What were you doing in the rain at 11:30? You could get sick!"
I shiver despite the steaming hot water, I was still cold. "I-I don't know." My speech was slurred and I felt dizzy as if I would pass out. I don't really know what happened next, she was talking and my eyes closed. I went down and felt my head bash against the edge of the tub I was guessing. Everything went black and eerily silent.
