Once Upon A Dream

(WARNING: I am doing Colsons P.O.V in this chapter and it is pretty Rated R)

"Stop staring at me."

Colson quickly looks away. He starts to say something but then he walks out of my room and shuts the door.

I get up to go follow him, and he's standing on the other side of the door.

He cups my face in his hands and is about to kiss me, so I close my eyes.

"RaeLynn, We're home," My dad says shaking me awake.

I roll my eyes.

"We brought you a present," I hear my little brother Jace say, so I roll over and sit up.

Jace reaches out his arms and hands me a baby French bulldog.

"Oh my goodness!" I squeal in excitement.

I take the puppy from my brother, "I thought you guys were going to Melissa's moms?"

Melissa walks in and drapes her arm around my older younger brother, Jacob.

"My mom's dog had puppies, and I thought it would be the perfect gift to help you ease up a bit," Melissa says with a heart warming smile.

As I sit there petting the puppy, my smile drops.

Why would they give me another responsibility? I don't need to take care of another thing when I'm taking care of myself and Cayden.

"Thanks guys, but I really don't want him," I say handing the puppy back to 5 year old Jace.

The puppy starts whining and trying to come back to me.

"But sissy, he wants you," Jace says as the puppy squirms out of his grasp and runs to me.

The puppy starts frantically licking my face and Jace starts giggling.

The puppy runs from me over to Jace and accidentally claws his face and makes Jace cry, which woke up a cranky Cayden who also began to cry.

I huffed and got out of bed to retrieve my son.

"We're sorry, Rae. We'll leave you alone," Melissa says escorting everyone out.

"Shhh," I shush Cayden.

I flip on my light switch because it was past 11 pm. I carried Cayden across the hall and into the upstairs kitchen to make him a bottle.

I was feeding him when I hear a little girl talking.

I turned around and Colson was standing there with his daughter, Casey.

"Hey," he says as he sits her down.

He walks over and she slips her little hand into his big one, I wanted to cry because Cayden will never be like that with him.

"Rae, you remember Casey," He says and I nod.

"Hi Casey," I say and squat down to shake her hand.

"Is that your baby?" She asks getting close to Cayden and I to peer down at him.

"Yes," I giggle.

Cayden opens his eyes and looks at her, "He looks like my daddy."

I look at Casey and my mouths drops.

"R-really," I stutter, "you think so?"

I laugh, trying to play it off.

She nods her head, "Yup. They both have blue eyes, like the sky..."
