Arrived

I woke up. I quickly looked at the map on the TV screen. We had 30 minutes left of the flight. Zach was sleeping with his mouth open. I looked out the window. I was thinking about the poses the twins and I would do. I knew about them when they first started vine. I was absolutely obsessed with them. They are my happy place. They are one of the few people that helped me when no one else could. They believed in me when no one else did. 

I know it sound silly. That a person on a screen can change your life. But it did. The least I could do for them was make a fan account. In the summer of 2016, I started an account called @dolantwins.spammss. Over the years, I have meet so many great people that have influenced me. They changed my life. 

Over the speaker, the flight attendant announced that we just a few minutes away from landing.  

Zach moved around in his seat and woke up. 

"We're almost here" I said

We both started packing on our carry ons and remained seated. 

The plane rumbled and we landed. We unbuckled our seat belts and headed out the plane. After exiting the airport, a gust of dry wind hit us. Zach hailed over a taxi and we both loaded our bags into the car. We didn't have much luggage since we were only staying for a few days. 

"Where are you going" the taxi driver asked us. 

I told him the address of the hotel and we were on our way.

"Aren't you a little young to be by yourselves?"

"We're 16" I replied.

"Aghh" he said

I looked out the window at the passing buildings and cars. This was a busy part of the city. 

We arrived at our hotel 10 minutes later. 

As we checked into our hotel, people gave us weird looks. I grabbed our room keys off the table and headed to the elevators. Our room door opened with a click and we were in. The room was comfortable with 2 twin beds and a restroom. I dropped my bags in the small foyer and crashed on the bed. 

"I'll look for some places to eat for dinner" Zach said as he plopped onto a chair nearby. 

I looked up at the ceiling and thought about tomorrow. Ever since I saw the twins, I wanted to meet them. I wanted so badly to tell them everything they've helped me do. Their happiness was my happiness. My phone buzzed. It was a tweet from Grayson. 

"Can't wait 2 meet u Dallas" 

I quickly liked the tweet and commented red heart emojis. The tweet made me smile. 

I grabbed my laptop from the backpack and logged on. I quickly opened the editing app. I started making an edit of Grayson. In fifteen minutes I was done. I showed it to Zach before posting it on my Instagram. I leaned back into the pillow and sighed. 

"What's wrong" he said

"Nothing. Just thinking about tomorrow" 

"I see." he said "I found some BBQ places downstairs, maybe we can try them out."

"yeah" I replied. 

I looked at my phone. The time read 6:00. The time change was killing me. I mentally reminded myself to call my mom later. 

I grabbed the room key off the counter and followed Zach outside. Downstairs, we asked the concierge of some places to eat. We ended up eating a casual place with just a few people. 

I looked around at the small place. It was a rustic looking place with a few wooden tables. A waitress came by and took our orders. I ordered some fries and a drink because I wan't hungry. 

"Do you know your poses for the meet and greet?"

"I think..," I replied "but I might want to change them when we're in line."

He nodded in agreement. 

"Do you want to go solo or double?" I asked him

"Up to you" he said. "Would it seem weird if I went solo?"

"Kind of" I said "I mean, they might think your gay or something"

"But again" I continued "they hang out with James so they respect it"

"Yeah" he replied. 

Just then, our food arrived. Fries overflowed the red basket. I squirted some ketchup on a small plate and dipped the fries in them. Across from me, Zach ordered bacon fries. 

"I'm so stoked for tomorrow" I said trying to start a conversation "I hope I meet some new friends that have fan accounts" 

"That would be cool" he replied. "That's such a dead word" he muttered. 

"Yeah, I kinda need some" 

We finished the rest of our dinner in silence. We then walked to the elevators and headed upstairs.
