My party ended better than it began. For the first time I felt better in this place I was to call home. Ice and I sneaked away into my room, needing to be alone. The second I closed my door shut, his lips attacked mine, he kissed me so hungrily and I felt parts of my body that had been dormant these last months awaken. Ice breathed life into my body, and I would be lying if I said it didn't feel so god damn good. He released my lips and rested his forehead against mine, our breaths came out in pants as the after shock of our kiss eased away.
"I missed you so much Hope", he whispered, his icy breath cooling my face. I rested my palms on his chest, "I missed you more, I felt so empty, cold and alone without you". He pressed a kiss to my forehead, sending chills down my spine. "I thought I'd loose faith in finding you, but I walked down every road, turned every corner, stripped down every town, building by building. To get to you", I dragged my hands up his firm chest and circled them around his neck. With my fingers tangled in his hair, I pulled his lips down to mine.
This time I was doing to devour him.
Eventually Ice and I somewhat satisfied the emptiness in our stomachs from being apart. We lay on the bed, against the headboard. His arm was around my waist, drawing circles on my exposed hip where my dress had ridden up. I was safely tucked into his side, palm resting on his stomach, feeling the bumps of his abs over his shirt. We lay here for what seemed like forever, no words were said. Almost as if we were savouring this moment, it felt oddly comforting.
A knock came at the door, Ice reached over and grabbed a blanked beside him, laying it over my naked legs and exposed hip. "Come in" I called out, the door opened and in walked in mommy, she smiled slightly at us and came further into the room. "I just wanted to apologise for my wife", she said towards Ice, "there really isn't a need to, It's understandable" he replied. She nodded once and looked over at me, "Hope, me and your momma just want you to be safe. We never want to be the enemies here, and there are times parents have to make decisions that you might not agree with. However, I see that you are happy and after all you've been through I don't want anything else but your happiness. It's going to take time for momma to come around, but I just ask that you're patient with her." I nodded and smiled at my mommy, its the least I could do for her accepting Ice.
"Thank you mommy" I said smiling and she smiled back at me, genuinely for the first time in a while. "Oh and Ice, where are you staying?" she asked, "I have a room in a motel not too far from here, I'll crash there for the time being until I find a job and can find something better", "nonsense, go fetch your things and you can stay here. Perhaps it will help momma adjust to the situation. However, I expect good behaviour from you both if I am to let you sleep in the same bed. Are we clear?". I tried my best to hide my smile, but failed, I didn't think today could get any better. I nodded along with Ice, "Understood" we said in unison and mommy turned around making her way back out the room.
"Mommy"
"Yes Hope?"
"I love you"
"I love you too baby"
