Your POV
"NASH!!! GET UP HERE AND LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO HAYES!!!" I screamed. Hayes looked at me, confusion in his eyes.
When Nash got up there, he looked around to see if I had a nerf gun, and when he decided the coast was clear he looked at Hayes.
"Oh my god!!! Hayes I'm so sorry I didn't know that would be so bad!!! Geez!"
"What? Will someone just tell me what's wrong with my face?"
I honestly thought he had a perfect face, but now wasn't the time. "Umm, Hayes, you have a really bad black eye. It's gonna take at least a week to heal and you'll need to ice it regularly." I said, handing him the ice.
He groaned and said, "It's alright Nash, you didn't mean to."
"You'll just have to wear sunglasses for the BBQ then, cause there'll be lots of pictures. I mean, unless you wanna be known as the guy who showed up to your friend's party with a black eye.."
"Knock it off Nash! Wait, what BBQ?" I asked.
"Crap, Hayes! ABORT!!!" Nash screamed, running away once again. I gave Hayes a confused look, and he groaned.
"Nash always spoils everything. I guess I have to tell you, we're doing a surprise BBQ for your birthday. It's gonna be epic! There'll be all the boys there, and we'll even have an outdoor movie."
"That sounds awesome!! I can't believe y'all did that for me!"
"Well, you're one special girl." I could feel myself blushing, and Hayes just smiled at me. He seemed to cheer up a little, and I joked, "So what day do you wanna go shopping for your sunglasses? I bet we could find some really sweet ones at the mall!"
He laughed a little, but actually took me seriously. "Alright, let's do that."
From downstairs, we heard, "You doofus! She was joking!!"
I looked at Hayes and said, "I was joking at first, but now it sounds really fun! Tomorrow maybe?"
His embarrassed face turned into a relieved one, and he nodded and smiled.
"Can't wait. We can go tomorrow, as long as we leave Nash here. Is that ok with you?"
"Definitely. Just wondering, when is the BBQ?"
"Ummm-"
"HAYES DON'T YOU DARE TELL HER!!! WE NEED IT TO BE A SURPRISE!" Nash was still yelling from downstairs...what a goof.
"NASH WHY DON'T YOU COME UP HERE AND TALK TO US LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE!" I yelled. From downstairs, we could hear a faint, "Cause y'all ain't normal people."
"Oh, he's gonna get it." I said, grinning at Hayes. He almost looked worried about his brother, but just flashed a grin back. I go down the stairs as quietly as possible, and when I look around the corner Nash is standing by the back door. I can't go any further without being seen, so I break into a run towards him. He runs out the door, but isn't fast enough to slam it in my face so I get an advance on him. Not wanting to lose any time, I don't shut the door behind me, and as I'm chasing Nash around the yard Hayes comes out the door. I never noticed he was standing there though!!! Nash begins to slow down just as I start speeding up, and I tackle him, pinning him to the ground.
Hayes just cheers, making both of us notice him for the first time. "When did you come out here???" Nash yelled.
"Like three minutes ago, but I guess you were too busy screaming like a little girl."
As Nash rolls his eyes, I ask, "So will you tell me when the BBQ is now?"
