Chapter 8

Your POV

The next morning, I woke up and from where I was laying in my bed, I could look out my window at the sun rising over LA. It was such a peaceful moment, I didn't want it to end. But, I forgot I'd be living with my best friend (and my crush) for the next two months.
Nash and Hayes burst through my door, yelling, "Rise and shine!!! Up and at'em!" I tried to hide my head in my pillow, but Nash took that as a challenge and ripped the bedsheets off. I didn't get cold, since it was LA in the summer, but it was still uncomfortable! I reached around for my sheets, but Nash had other ideas. He went out in the hallway, got a running start, and jumped on my bed. That flung me off the bed into the cold floor, and since I was only wearing a tank top and shorts as pajamas that woke me up.
By the time I stood up, Nash was running away laughing (as usual) and Hayes was checking to see if I was ok.
"You alright?"
"Yeah, thanks!" He helped me up, then just laughed quietly and looked down to the ground.
"What? Do I have a bed head?" I asked.
"No, I was just thinking. I'm asking if you're ok, and completely forgetting the fact you're best friends with my brother, so you two always play rough. Honestly, I'd be surprised if there's one day throughout this summer that one of you isn't trying to get back at the other!" We both smiled at each other.
"But yeah, you do have a bed head." He said seriously, and I groaned.
I walked into the bathroom, to see if he was right. My hair's a little messy, but not that much! When I came back out, Hayes had closed the door. I gave him a questioning look, then he explained.
"Nash is always eavesdropping on everything. So for the mall today, I have a plan to distract him. Once you're ready and we've all had breakfast, I'm going to ask Nash to go down to the basement to get something, and then we can sneak out. I'll have the car all ready, just make sure you have everything you need for the day, yeah?"
"That sounds good!"
"Ok, be ready in fifteen minutes."
Hayes got to the door, opened it, and there was Nash.
"You do realize closing a door is not soundproof right?" He grinned at me, then at Hayes.
"Well I guess it's gonna be the three of us today." Hayes looked disappointed, and Nash noticed.
"No, I was also gonna say you guys should go to the mall without me! You've never really gotten the chance to know each other, and I feel like this is the perfect chance. I promise I won't interfere." He smiled at Hayes, who immediately smiled back.
"But, I'm still gonna get you guys back for not inviting me in the first place!" Hayes and I groaned, we were dreading the day that came with what Nash had in store for us.
"Hayes, have you iced your eye at all this morning?" I asked.
"Nah, I'll do it before we go though."
"Ok." With that they both left your room, leaving me to get ready. I looked around the room, to find my luggage over by the table. When I looked a little above the table, there was a Bluetooth speaker mounted on the wall! Turning it on, it took a few minutes to connect to my phone but eventually worked. Turing on my favorite music, I got ready for the day.

-Time Skip-

As I'm walking downstairs, I smell something really good. When I walk into the kitchen, I see Hayes cooked (f/b)!!!!!
"How'd you know it's my favorite?" I asked, smiling.
"I actually didn't, but it's one of my favorites too, so I thought it'd be safe." He smiled back, and for a minute it just felt like me and him in the world. Just a minute.
"Dannnnnnngggggg, (y/n) lookin fine today!" Nash teased, and I turned to him and did a diva pose. I was wearing an actual tank top and shorts, not like my pajamas. We laughed cause I looked so stupid, I never can pull off a diva pose!
Then he tried to do it, and completely failed. He stuck one foot out too far, causing him to slip and fall on his back. What we hadn't noticed was Hayes had stopped what he was doing, just to stare at us.
