The week rolls by and nothing new has happened, the boys have stayed out of my way for the most part, not going to lie it hurts seeing them walk together and I'm just hiding on the sidelines. This is how it has to be though, at least for now.
Raine I can tell is much darker and rougher than he used to be. I haven't seen him smile at all and trust me I've been looking. It's hard not to when my heart still jumps at he thought of him.
I was sitting outside when Liam came up to me and sat down under the tree next to me.
"So have you heard of the party auntie Angie is throwing? It's tonight and no one was supposed to invite you but I think you should come. I mean we are your family even if it doesn't seem like it right now." He says while picking grass with his hands like a toddler.
"I don't know if that's a good idea, I mean no one will barely even look at me. I'm sure I'll just be the talk of the town tonight. " I reply.
"Yeah maybe but what if this is the chance for you to make things right?" He looks at me intensely.
"I mean I guess I can show up for a few minutes but I have to run it by my father first."
"Awesome! I'll let the guys know!" And he ran off towards the school, probably to the lunch area to tell them.
I can just imagine their faces as he tells them and all of them getting super pissed off . I'm sure they won't go now that I am.
School passes and I couldn't be happier. I actually love the walk home, it's peaceful and I don't have to worry so much. Except when I notice a black car following me from a far behind me. I take turns and cut across streets to lose it but it's still there.
I make a run for it and just as I get to my door an arm grabs me from behind. I quickly throw my leg back and kick him in the knee and twist his arm behind his back and push him to him knees.
Although I really should look before I go all ninja because I look down to see a scared Liam staring at me.
"..." I just stare at him.
He slowly gets up and turns around and looks at the black car that was following me. The windows are rolled down now and it's the boys.
"Did you see that?!" He shouts to them. " I told you she can kick my ass!"
I just laugh and back away from him.
"How the hell did you run that fast though? I mean we were driving and could barely keep up." He asks still out of breath.
" I'm not sure, I just run a lot." Yet again another lie.
"Sure Ace sure. But anyways we were wondering if you had a nice dress for tonight?" He asks.
"Uhh no I don't own any and I don't wear them." I reply with distaste.
"Well tonight you are because it's hella formal and we're all going to the mall anyways."
"You aren't gonna let me say no are you." I say.
"Nope." And with that he hails me over his shoulder and drags me to the car. Once again I sit between Oliver and Raine, but this time is was just silent.
Let's just say shopping is not my thing, we've been here at this mall for two hours and they are still looking for dresses that I'll say yes to. Which is impossible because I'm saying no to all of them. Hehe just wait till they give up.
" Okay enough of this bullshit." Says Raine and he drags me to a changing room and pushes me in throwing dresses over the top.
"I'm not moving until you change and are out here in a dress." He adds standing right outside the curtain.
No way in hell was I staying in here so I looked for a way out. Surely the stall next to me was empty so I slid underneath quietly and kept going under under I was out on the other side for the doors. I look over to see the boys standing outside my stall waiting. Oh if only they knew.
I start to walk away with pride when the lady at the front counter looks at me and says "oh honey your friends are over there." And sure enough she was loud enough for them to hear.
They looked shocked as hell and Raine walked over to me and said "alright but you asked for it."
"What do you mean?" I question.
He pushes me back into the stall but instead of leaving he stays in and shuts the curtain with us both in there.
"Ummm this is usually the part where you get out." I nervously reply.
"You lost your privacy when you snuck out. Now change or I will change you myself." He says firmly.
"I don't think you should be in here Raine." I say now getting anxious.
" Just change Ace."
So I did. I changed into a dark blue cocktail dress that was right around my curves and had a sweetheart neckline. The sleeves went down to me elbows and there was a thin sheet off lace on the top. But of course I couldn't zip the dress in the back so I turned to him.
That's when I noticed a hint of something in his eyes but I couldn't figure it out.
"Will you zip me?" I ask as I turn.
"Uh-uh ye-yeah." He says breathing heavy.
His fingers slowly glide the zipper up until he stops and gently touches his fingers on my back, and I know exactly where he touching.
My scars that run along my back from the whips or electricity rods. His fingers sketches each one and I gasp as I feel his lips kiss down it. He slowly pulls away and turns me around.
"What happened Ace?" His eyes full of concern.
" I don't remember." I say looking away.
With that his face drops and his stern look came back.
"Alright but that one because you're taking forever and we're wasting our time with someone who doesn't even care." He says and walks out of the changing stall.
What the hell just happened? Ugh and we're back to square one which is where he hates me again.
We left the mall after I purchased the dress I tried on and headed home. Now to get ready for this party where I'm the one they're gossiping about.
