Things changed dramatically in the castle. After the incident, the king and queen had no choice but to fire most of the servants, and close the gates and prevent visitors from ever coming again.

The hardest part was having to separate Aiden and Reginald. Now that Aiden's memories were changed up, Aiden didn't remember that Reginald possessed ice powers. The two brothers were forced to have their own bedrooms now, and Aiden was confused with the sudden change. He had no memory of the events that night, or the fact that the streak of white in his hair was from getting struck by Reginald's magic, not that he was born with it.

"Reggie?" Aiden called out.

He got no response. Aiden ran out of their bedroom, or rather now his bedroom, and searched for his older brother. He saw Reginald entering another bedroom.

"Reggie, where are you going?" he asked him.

Reginald didn't respond. He looked at Aiden sadly before going inside his bedroom and shutting the door. Aiden sighed sadly when heard the sound of a click, indicating that Reginald locked the door.

After Reginald left him alone in the hallway, Aiden sat down outside of Reginald's door. He waited patiently for Reginald to come out, but the older prince didn't come out. The younger prince was confused. He couldn't understand why his older brother would shut him out like that.

"Reggie?" Aiden called out.

No response.

Aiden sighed sadly. He got up and turned to leave.

"Reggie, I don't understand... why are you shutting me out? Did I do something wrong?" he said sadly.

Aiden walked away, but as he did, he had no clue that Reginald heard him from the other side of the door. Reginald covered his face with his hands.

"I'm sorry Aiden, but I have to protect you..." he whispered.

The following winter, Aiden was excited to see the snow. He and Reginald loved to play in the snow, but of course, he didn't remember about how Reginald had powers. Just that he and Reginald loved to play in the snow. Build a snowman, skate on ice, and slide down into a big pile of snow.

It was the first winter since Reginald had to shut himself out of Aiden's life. The older prince rarely came out of his bedroom, so Aiden was eager to start this winter off. He got bundled up and had a sled with him.

Aiden ran down the hallway and knocked on Reginald's door.

"Reggie! Come on! It's snowing outside! Let's go play in the snow!" said Aiden excitedly.

There was only silence.

"I know you haven't been talking to me lately, but we can go play together! We love playing in the snow! We could build a snowman, sled down a hill, and more! Come on Reggie!" said Aiden excitedly.

"Go away Aiden..." he heard Reginald mutter.

The smile faded from Aiden's face. He looked sad when he heard Reginald mutter like that. Why didn't his brother want to play in the snow like they always did?

"But... Reggie..." Aiden began to say.

He couldn't continue. He sighed sadly and said, "Okay... bye..."

Aiden walked back to his room so he could get out of his thick winter gear. He didn't want to go outside if he would play by himself, without his older brother.

As he heard Aiden walk away, Reginald sighed sadly. He walked over to the window of his room and looked out. The snow was falling down gently, leaving a beautiful white blanket of cold on the ground. The cold didn't bother Reginald, and he loved the winter. But now that he couldn't use his powers anymore or play with Aiden, it made him sad.
