Monday, August 24th

Today is my first day of junior year, and to be quite honest, I'm not dreading it too bad. I've had a pretty great high school experience so far. I get along with almost everyone in school, I play a few sports, and I have decent grades. A lot of kids who don't really know me would say that I'm a goody two-shoes but I'd have to disagree. Sure, I'm a good kid and I'm pretty responsible but I can have fun and get into some trouble when I want to.

I wake up at 7:30 AM by the sound of my annoying alarm clock, beeping loud enough to wake the whole house up. I take a minute to let myself fully wake up before jumping out of bed and hopping in the shower.

--

Once I'm out of the shower, I quickly brush through my hair and start thinking of what to wear. I've been through enough school years to know that no body actually cares what you wear on the first day of school, so I decide to keep it comfy and get dressed in a black v-neck t-shirt, shorts and Vans. I keep my long blonde hair down, which I normally do, and I'm ready.

I quickly eat breakfast with my parents and my sister, Shannon. Once we're finished, Shannon and I hop in my car and head to school together.

Shannon is my little sister. She's only a grade below me so that makes her both my worst enemy and my best friend at the same time. We get into cat fights about everything, but we also tell each other everything.

"So how excited are you for junior year?" She asks as soon as we start driving.

"Extremely excited. But I'm more excited that you're a sophomore now because that means that it's socially acceptable for you to attend the same parties as me" We both laugh.

"Yeah I'm excited for that, too"

---

We get to school a bit early which means that we have time to grab our schedules and catch up with friends.

"LIZ!!!" I run up and hug my best friend, Liz as soon as I see her.

We've been best friends since 4th grade and we are basically attached at the hip, but we didn't get to see each other much over summer because she was vacationing with family, and when she wasn't, I was, hence us running and hugging each other like maniacs.

Liz and I have been through a lot with each other, she's always been kind of a trouble maker and I've always been the one to get her out of trouble, which has been pretty tough at times. I'm actually a little nervous to see what kind of shenanigans I'll have to go through with her this year.

"I missed your face" She says, laughing.

"Oh but I missed yours so much more"

We hug each other one last time before taking off down the hall, arm in arm.

As we're walking, we talk about normal stuff you talk about right after summer; what we did, what boys we had a summer fling with, blah blah blah, then the bell rings and we separate to our different classes.

I have Biology first, and the Teacher, Mr. Davids, is my favorite teacher that I've had in high school so far. He let's us sit wherever we want since it's the first day, so naturally I sit next to a few friends that I'm lucky to have in most of my classes; Mallory, Mike and Cheyenne.

The 4 of us talk amongst ourselves for a while, until we're interrupted by someone behind me.

"Well well well, if it isn't miss legs" I just about puke in my mouth when I turn around and see Sam Wilkinson, one of the biggest douches I've ever met.

I wouldn't say I hate the guy, but I've never particularly liked him. He can be funny at times and yeah, he's pretty attractive, but his cocky personality and man-whorish ways just ruin him.

I've been going to school with Sam since we were in 6th grade and he has never once hit on me or showed any interest in me until he saw me swimming this summer. He was practically drooling all over himself, it was gross.

"Don't you have someone else to bother?" I roll my eyes and turn back to my friends.

"Well fine then, be a priss. I bet by the end of this year I'll have those wonderful legs of yours wrapped around my waist, just wait" He chuckles then walks over to a few other people and sits down. Told you he has a cocky attitude. Such a turn-off.

"He is honestly such as ass" Cheyenne says, which is very ironic to me.

"Cheyenne, you hooked up with Sam like 10 times in 1 week, you may think he's an ass but you like his ass at the same time so you have no room to say anything" We all laugh and Cheyenne lightly smacks my arm and scoffs.

Mallory, Mike, Cheyenne and I have all but 1 class together. Because it's the first day and there's not much to do except for collect papers for our parents to sign, the 4 of us group up and just talk in every period, which is great. The only thing that is making the day slightly bad is the fact that I have every class with Sam Wilkinson, and he makes a note to make a snarky comment towards me in every class. Ugh.

3 PM

I got through the day with no problems, and I'm more than happy about the fact that there was absolutely no homework. It'll probably be that way for the rest of the week while the teachers try to get back into the swing of things.

Basketball season starts right at the beginning of the year, which means so does cheer-leading so now instead of going home, I head to cheer tryouts. I've never been a cheerleader before, but my sister has and she said it's fun so I'm gonna' try it out just for the hell of it.

-

Tryouts went great and they were fun and all, but now I'm tired and eager to get home and nap.

Lucky for me, my sister is also cheering this year so we get out of school at the same time. I don't have to wait around for her and she doesn't have to wait around for me.

In the locker room, I get changed into some shorts and a tank top then leave the gym and start walking to my car with Shannon.

"Oh man, I can definitely get used to this sight" I hear Sam halfway yell to my sister and I as we're walking. I turn around and notice that's he's staring at both of our asses. I'm confused for a split second as to why he's still at school, but then I remember, he's a basketball player. Dammit.

"You're an ass!" I yell while flipping him off. My sister laughs and also flips him off, then we get into my car and drive home. The rest of the night is uneventful.

I have to have fillers because all the good stuff happens I'm sorry! It will get better and more adventurous I promise!
