Monday, August 31st

It's now the second week of school, which means we're all about to go through hell. We start getting into the curriculum today, which means the homework begins. I'm very fortunate because I've always done really well in school, and I've been lucky to understand pretty much every subject, but I still hate homework, just like every other high schooler in the world.

I'm sitting in Geometry, trying to focus as hard as I can when I notice something land on my desk. It's a note. I glance behind me to see Sam, smirking at me. I roll my eyes and unravel the little piece of paper.

"Let me take you out this weekend;)" I definitely just gagged.

"No way, dude. You're only asking to take me out because you like my body"  I throw the note to his desk and of course the teacher catches me.

"Ms. Williams passing notes while I'm lecturing will not be allowed! This is your only warning"  I apologize then when the teacher isn't paying attention I glare at Sam, because he passed the note in the first place.

He doesn't write anything back, and he actually looks somewhat disappointed when he read what I said.

He doesn't bother me for the rest of the day after Geometry.

After school I meet up with my sister. We don't have cheer practice, and neither of us have homework so we head to the mall to go shopping for homecoming dresses.

"Do you have a date yet?" My sister asks as we search through several racks and grab a bunch of dresses.

"Not yet. There's still 2 weeks left though. I was kind of hoping Jack G. would ask me, we hung out a lot this summer and this whole week he's been hinting, but even if he doesn't I don't have a problem going with friends without a date, I'm a strong independent white woman who don't need no man" We both giggle.

"Well I hope he asks, for your sake. He's hot as hell" Shannon replies. She's totally right.

Eventually we find our perfect dresses and head home for dinner, the rest of the night being pretty boring.

Wednesday, September 2nd

It's currently 5 PM and I'm resting on my bed, listening to music and texting Liz and a few other friends. In the middle of sending a text message, I hear knocking on the front door downstairs. I pause my music and listen to see if anyone answers the door, but no one does so I'm forced to get up and go get it myself. When I open the door, I see nothing but a note laying on our 'welcome' mat.

"Shannon knows what's happening, get her and drive to the park downtown;)" Oh man. This better be a homecoming proposal.

"Shan!" I yell for my sister and she runs downstairs. She's already dressed and ready to go.

In the car, I pester her to give me some answers.

"You obviously helped plan this or something, you have to tell me if it's Jack or not. Please please please tell me" She doesn't give me any hints whatsoever. What a butt-hole.

When we're at the park, Shannon and I begin walking around. I keep annoying her and asking her questions until eventually, I notice something lit up in the football/soccer field directly to the left of the playground.

As I walk closer, I notice that there's a bunch of mini-candles laid out to spell "HOMECOMING?" in the grass. It's so cliche and cheesy but I love it. I'm giddy and excited, but also confused because I don't see a boy standing anywhere in sight.

"You seem happy, so I'm taking that as a yes?" I turn around expecting Jack but it isn't. It's fucking Sam.

You have got to be kidding me.

Completely obvious it was gonna be Sam asking her hahaha. Sorry the first chapters are extremely lame. My writing progresses though(; Leave comments and vote please!
