Thursday, September 3rd.
When I walk up to school the next day, the first thing I see is Sam swapping saliva with some brunette chick on a bench. Now I'm not jealous or anything, but seeing that just made me realize that I do not want to go to homecoming with someone who probably only wants to hook-up.
At lunch, I confront him about it.
"Hey can I talk to you?" I interrupt Sam talking to some friends.
He agrees and follows me outside.
"Okay listen I admit that how you asked me to homecoming was nice and what not and yesterday during dress shopping you had one nice moment but then I came to school today and saw you making out with whoever that was, and I'm NOT saying I'm jealous, but I just realized that I want to go to homecoming with someone who's gonna make it a special time for me, not someone who's gonna be staring at every other girl the whole night, I'm sorry" He doesn't respond right away so I turn to leave.
"Wait!" I turn back around.
"Please don't just change your mind. I like you, I really do but I can't just not be attracted to other girls"
"Exactly my point, I'd rather go alone or like I said, have a date that will want to be with me that night. You'd probably end up going home with some other girl, sorry Sam." I don't want to hear him argue or try to convince me, so I turn around and walk away, this time ignoring his plea for me to stay.
Lucky for me, Jack G. asks me to homecoming the same day. He waited for me after cheer practice with a giant 'HOMECOMING?' sign and some pretty blue orchids.
I feel bad in a way for saying yes then just changing my mind and saying no to Sam, but I'm also really happy because now I know I'm going with someone who will actually want to be with me and only me.
I don't think I'll regret my decision.
