Chapter 21-Cars

Juvia POV

I lay on my bed in deep thought. What was Gray doing with that sugarboy guy? They leaned in and then fought over something. Why wasn't I close enough to hear anything? I am so bad at spying on people, I should've taken those classes.

I haven't seen Gray for a couple of days now because I keep telling him that i'm sick and it's incredibly contagious. Of course Gray goes with it and doesn't come over. I have really just been letting this event get to me and it has completely taken over all my thoughts.

Mum knocked and my door yesterday and asked if I was ok and I couldn't honestly answer her. I mean how can you tell your mum that your boyfriend might be covering up being gay by dating you? It isn't something you hear everyday let alone want to hear.

Should I be more upset about this? I mean nothing actually happened and I might just be overreacting but you know, my boyfriend might just be ACTING like he loves me. It is such a horrible thing to think of but i'm not crying, i'm actually quite calm about it. I guess that I just always thought it was too good to be true and it didn't show till now.

Argh what am I thinking? I need to stay positive. If i'm not positive then all odds will be against me. I need to do something to get my mind off it and being with Gray might not work. LEVY! Levy is always at home and hanging with her would definitely take my mind off things.

When I get to Levy's house I knock on the door and wait. Maybe I should have text her first. Oh well, she ought to be home anyway.

I then hear someone come to the door and there is laughing and joking about. Is someone with Levy? The door opens and there stands a laughing Levy with messy hair and untidy clothes. Behind her stands an exhausted Gajeel.

"Oh, hey Juvia. What brings you to my house?" She asks while slightly panting.

"Hey Juvia" Says Gajeel as he lightly waves his hand towards me.

"Ah hey, didn't think i'd see you here Gajeel" Oh no not now. Don't get jealous, don't you dare start crying. I feel the emotions grow and grow. That's when I feel a small trickle run down my face.

"Juvia? Are you ok?" Levy says sounding worried.

Before I know it my feet are moving frantically down the street away from Levy's house. I don't really know where i'm going because not being able to see due to tears. I knew that i would finally crack but why now? Why in front of friends?

I continue running, not knowing where I am or where i'm going.

Then everything happens so suddenly. A car horn. Excruciating pain. Black out.

Levy POV

"Juvia? Are you ok?" I ask seeing tears roll down her face.

Before I can do anything more, she is half way down the road running and crying desperately. This leaves both me and Gajeel in shock for a good minute.

I then run out to the road. "Juvia! Wait!" I yell after her. I keep running trying to follow after her and I can hear Gajeel not too far behind me. I round the corner and see Juvia not far into the distance.

I speed up, hoping that i'll catch up to Juvia. It's too late though, a car comes out of nowhere. It beeps loudly and then collides with Juvia's fragile body. She flies over the car bending in ways that no human should ever bend and bloods goes flying.

Just then Gajeel catches up to me. "Oh crap" Is all he can manage to say.

Tears start to fill my eyes and my legs give way on me, making fall to the cold, hard ground.I sob into my hands while I hear Gajeel call for an ambulance. Why did it have to be Juvia that got hit?

I then get up and run to her. Many people have already crowded around her by now, trying to help her while they wait for the ambulance. I push my way through the crowd and fall beside Juvia. She lay uncomfortably on the asphalt road with blood running down her face and wounds over her body.

"Don't die Juvia, please don't" I plead to the lifeless body. The tears begin to flow faster down my face.

Ambulance sirens are then heard. The paramedics then push aside the crowd and take care of Juvia and drive her off to the hospital. I find myself in Gajeel's arms still slightly sobbing.

"Please don't die" I whisper to myself.
