Pov (F/N)
It was the afternoon of the next day. Weiss and I were on the roof of our school eating lunch as we stared off to the distance. She had a blue blanket placed on the floor that she sat on.
Weiss: "Tell me do you believe the bombs will drop?" She seemed rather serious.
"Can't say for sure but at least we have a safe place to be at." I try to reassure her seemed to work.
Weiss: "Yeah your right just hope we can make it to the Vault before anything happens." We continued eating and spending the time just looking out in the distance. The bell then rings signaling the end of lunch.
"Come on let's get to class." I extend my hand towards her. She smiles and takes it.
Weiss: "Yeah let's."
Timeskip
After school we decided to go out and spend sometime together before she heads home. I look at Weiss only to see she was a little red and was looking down a bit.
"Weiss what's up?" I ask and she immediately looks up and gets rather defensive.
Weiss: "Nothing I wasn't think off anything. You can prove it." She walks a little fast leaving me slightly confused. What was she thinking about? Curious. I catch up to her and she seemed to have cooled off. As we walked by we see a group of people crowded infront an electronic store at the TV display. Weiss and I decided to see what was happening but before we can make it we hear sirens going off. Weiss instantly looked terrified.
Weiss: "Shit this can't be happening. F/N come on we got to get to the vault!" She grabs my hand and begins to run dragging me with her. We begin making our way through the streets as other people begin running around as well. Everyone was panicking and screaming. This is bad. We made our way towards a trail off the road and we begin running up a hill. We pass some people who were also heading up. I can tell Weiss was getting tired of running and so was I but we couldn't stop for a minute. As we made it to the to we see a gate and a man who seems to have been in an argument with the guard but instantly backed off.
Weiss: "Let is through we are on the list." Weiss was out of breath. The guard looks at the list and verified our identities quickly.
Guard: "Yep your both right here go on through and hurry." We continue running up as we follow another guard who was guiding us towards a platform.
Guard: "Alright step on the platform and stay still." Weiss speaks up.
Weiss: "What about the other people?"
Guard: "Don't worry we'll get them to safety." We stood on the platform with other people as we waiting to be lowered down. We the see it a giant explosion in the distance and a mushroom cloud appearing. Weiss grabs onto my arm tightly, terrified. We begin to descend and I see a wave of dirt making its way towards us. Weiss covers her head with my arm and I grab her to try and comfort her as much as possible. We make it down before the shockwave reaches us and we continue to descend.
We made it the the bottom and was greeted by some Vault-Tec employees they reassured us that we are safe and gave us some blue suits with the number 111 on it.
"You will all need to wear this but for now follow the overseer to a decontamination chamber." I followed them for a while then they separated the males and females to different rooms.
Overseer: "Alright so will the men follow me to this room where you will change and get decontaminated." Weiss let's go of my arm slightly depressed.
"Don't worry it will only be for now." She nods and begins to go in the other room as I follow the overseer. I made it into a room with a bunch of pods.
Overseer: "Please enter and change into the Vault suit and step inside the pod for decontamination." I did as instructed and enter the pod. As it closed I saw other men entering their own pods as well.
"Time for a new life underground." I then hear the computer begin to decontamination. It then begins to count down.
5....... I feel cold
4....... my breathing is slowing
3...... I am feeling exhausted
2...... It then hits me
1........ "cryo............pod"
Everything goes white.
