Raven's POV
It was Friday. The day of my mom's funeral. Everyone who knew her was coming. Pete, Patrick, Kellin, Andy, Joe, Brendon, Jack and Alex were all coming to pay their respects. They were all close to my mom, and they were bring their parents along. Juliet, Andy's girlfriend who I've never met before, was attending as well. Pete had decided to bring Bree along, that I wasn't too happy about.
My dad was also coming to the funeral. I haven't seen him in two years. This was going to be weird and awkward. Me and my dad never got along. He was too much like Claire.
I wore my black combat boots with black tights and a black dress which was complimented with a long black cardigan. Elsa was wearing similar to me and Andy was wearing all black as well. We hopped into the Hurst and drove to the funeral, neither of us saying anything.
When we arrived at the church, we were greeted by my dad, and my four uncles. They were going to carry the coffin in with Andy. They all placed the coffin on their shoulders and started walking into the church. Claire, Elsa and me followed. I walked infront with Elsa, holding her hand tightly as we both cried silently. The song 'Lost It All' by Black Veil Brides was playing in the back ground. They placed the coffin on a stand and then we all sat down.
The vicar did a speech and then got us to sing some songs about life and death. He asked Andy to come up and do a speech. I cried even more as soon as Andy started talking. When he was finished, he came and sat by me.
"I would now like to invite Charlotte's daughter to the stand, Raven?" The vicar looked at me. I nodded and walked to the stand. I looked around the room and wiped away a tear that fell down my face
"My mom was my hero." I admitted. "She never let anything get in her way. Didn't take no crap, no matter how mean people were to her. I never thought that she'd give up. When she got the cancer, it was hard on all of us kids. I had to go and research how other people coped. But, there was never away to fully cope with the news. Just when we though she was getting better, she gave up. I found her when she died, and no child wants to go through that. I held her body in my arms and even though she had no life in her, she look at peace. I guess that's all that matters, she in better place..."
I shook my head. "She's finally away from the assholes that are here."
Everyone gasped in shock. They looked at one another and start whispering.
"Most of you were friends with her because you felt sorry." I continued. "You felt sorry that she had cancer. You just wanted to be her friends in hope that you'll get some money. My mom worked her ass off to fend for her family and to help everyone she loved. She helped Andy with his dream of being a rock star, she helped Claire get into teaching. She helped me make friends and told me that it was okay to be different. She helped Elsa fall in love with acting, even though she's still young. We all appreciate that, and will keep her in our memory as a loving mother who want nothing but for her kids to be happy."
I walked away from the stand and sat back down. Andy wrapped his arms around shoulders and pulled me into a hug. I hugged him back tightly until it was time to leave.
A few hours later, and we were at the Wake. It was being held at my home. Everyone was talking quietly, and share their thoughts about my mother. I sat in the kitchen at the table, away from everyone. I just wanted to be alone.
"Is it okay if I join you?" I looked up and saw Pete in the door way.
"Go ahead." I gestured for him to sit.
He came took a seat next to me. "That was brave, what you did today."
"Thanks." I whispered. "I guess it had to be said at some point."
"I haven't seen you cry so much." He whispered back.
"I was really close to her." I shook my head.
"Come here." He held out his arms, as if he wanted to give me a hug.
I stared at him for a bit, until finally moving onto his lap and hugging him. He wrapped his arms around me and held me tightly. It was oddly comforting. I missed me and him doing this. We used to sit on the bed and just stay like this for hours. It happened before we dated, and stopped when we broke up. I was surprised that he wanted to do this, especially since his girlfriend was the next room.
"I miss this." He admitted, dragging me away from my thoughts.
"Me too." I sighed, closing my eyes. "What do you think Bree is going to think if she walks in."
"I don't care what she thinks." He whispered. "Your my best friend, and she can't stop that."
I pulled away and looked down. "I don't think she'll see it like that though."
"Why's that?" He put his hand under my chin and lifted it up so that I was looking at him.
"She knows that we used to date." I sighed. "She asked me about my relationship with you and the guys, wanting to know if I dated any if you. I told her the truth and also told her why we broke up."
"Then she shouldn't worry." He shrugged. "If she can't accept our friendship, then I shouldn't be with her."
"I don't want to be the cause of you two breaking up." I tried looking down, but Pete wouldn't let me.
"Well, maybe you should be." He whispered.
He started leaning in. Even though it was the worst idea, I started leaning as well. Just when our lips were about to connect, there was a sound of someone clearing their throat. Pete and I jumped a little, and then I got off his lap. We both turned and faced the door. Luckily it was only Andy and a young girl, who must have been Juliet.
"Are we interrupting something?" He asked, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Nope." Pete shook his head. "I was just about to leave. I have to find Bree."
Pete stood up and headed towards the door. Before he walked out of the kitchen, he turned and looked at me. "Speak to you later."
"Sure." I quickly agreed.
He walked off and Andy walked in. I stood up and walked closer to him.
"Raven, this Juliet, my girlfriend." Andy announced.
"Nice to finally meet you." I gave her a small smile. "I've heard so much about you."
"Same here." She smiled shyly, but it soon faded. "I'm so sorry for your lose."
"It's okay." I closed my eyes. I opened them after a few seconds. "Can I get you guys a drink?"
"No, I'm fine thanks." Juliet smiled. "I'm just going to use your bathroom, if that's okay?"
"Sure, just down the hall." Andy smiled and pecked her lips.
"Be back in a bit." She smiled before walking away.
Andy and I stood in silence. I decided that I now would be a good time to socialize, but as I tried to walk off, Andy stopped me. He lightly grabbed my shoulders and stood me infront of him.
"So what was that?" He smirked.
"What was what?" I asked, pretending to play dumb.
"You and Pete." He hushed his voice.
"It was nothing." I whispered.
"Why? Does he have a girlfriend?" He whispered loudly.
"Yes. It was a mistake. We didn't even kiss."
"But you was going to."
"But we didn't. He comforted me and we hugged. That's it."
"If you say so..." Andy giggled.
"Now I need to go and socialize." I giggled slightly and walked passed him.
