For Old Times Sake

It's been over four years since the end of Austin and Ally, and it's been over two years since Ross and I talked about our forbidden romance. The forbidden romance that our agents told us to keep under the rug. The romance that was covered up by Ross' 'loving relationship' with Court. Who knew that 'relationship' would become real once Austin and Ally ended. He told me that he truly fell in love with the beautiful Aussie girl, and left me weeping in my tiny car. Now I stand here, two years later, looking into his glowing brown eyes from across the room. I take a sip of my water to cool my overheating body down. He smiles kindly and begins to walk closer to where I stand. I, standing awkwardly in the middle of my press party for my new movie, looks around like a middle school girl, to see if he is looking into someone else's eyes. But no, he's staring directly at me.

"Hey, Laura, it has been so long" he states while embracing me in a short hug. I've longed to be in his arms, and now that it's happening, I couldn't ask for more.

"Too long..." I sigh. "How are you?" I ask.

"I'm fine. I've missed you. I'm so proud of the success you're creating for yourself." He exclaims while moving his hands around the room.

"Same goes to you, R5 is really becoming a pop culture sensation. I mean about time." I laugh.

He gazes into my eyes with so much admiration that he used to show me years ago. My cheeks begin to burn, and I awkwardly push a piece of hair behind my ear.

"So, where's Court and everybody else?" I ask rather nervously.

"The gang wanted to come support you, but they're preparing for our upcoming European tour. And..uh... Court and I recently broke up, because she believed I didn't love her anymore." He shrugs. My eyebrows scrunch, why would she believe that?

"Why did she believe you didn't love her?"

"Because I kept mentioning how much I missed you." He sighs.

My heart warms with love, while my mind remains skeptical. Would he leave me for another girl that peaks his fancy? As I'm about to reply, my agent grabs my wrist.

"Laura, it's time for your speech." She whispers with urgency. I sigh, perfect timing.

"I'm sorry Ross, but I need to go." As I'm about to leave, he grabs my shoulder.

"Let's have lunch sometime, to chat up, for old times sake." He smiles.

My eyes glisten with happiness.

"Of course."

Author's Note

Wow! It's been about three years since I've written, and it honestly feels great to continue my writing. Along with these three years, so much has happened for Ross and Laura. Ross has acted in My Friend Dahmer, played all around the world with R5, and he's smiling more and more each day, which makes me extremely happy. Laura has been in a few movies, including Lady Bird, and she seems to still be her true adorable self. I'm so proud of them both, and now that I'm older I don't strongly wish for them to be together. They should just continue to do what makes them happy, and I'll be happy. I do wish they got to hang out more. This may or may not be my last story on this one-shot novel. Please so love to my future stories and have a wonderful life.
