"I'm sorry I was such a b-word to you yesterday morning!"
"I'm sorry for assuming things about you and Devyn!"
Cora yelled at the same time I did. We both laughed.
"Seriously though. I'm so sorry for my behavior yesterday. I won't fall in love with him. I know what he's done to you and all the others. I don't think he's capable of having something even close to a real relationship, and I'm definitely not interested in players. Are we okay?" I explain sheepishly.
"Yes, of course!" She gives me hug.
We then go through Calculus and three other classes, until it's finally lunch, where we meet up with Dylan and McKenna.
"Have a seat and explain!" McKenna patted the free seat next to her and looked at me expectantly.
"Explain what?" I asked, bewildered and sat down as I was asked.
"Explain why you entered Zach's shop yesterday, with your little sis, and he bought you food like it was no big deal!" One of our other friends chimed in.
"Well, it really was no big deal to him," I explained, "He talked to my little sister the whole time anyways."
"Gosh, so you're now friends with two of the hottest guys at school," Lilaca sighed.
She was in my English class, and also friends with Carly.
"No, Zach's just my partner for the Art project." I said, while beginning to eat.
I couldn't understand the excitement over this.
He bought us a huge cookie, so what? He seemed like a really nice person, one that I would love to be friends with. If he had not been one of the hottest and most popular guys at our school, absolutely no one would make a fuss about it. They all needed to chill out.
"Oh my god, look at that loser over there." A girl from the table next to ours suddenly piped up.
I curiously glanced in the direction she had pointed at, to see Marcus Ingret, the school's most renowned tutor, and biggest nerd, standing by the side of Kelsey Dane. Marcus looked really nervous and flustered, while the cheerleader stood there, impatiently tapping the tip of her creepily pointed high heel against the tiled floor.
I could faintly hear his stammered words.
"There's... uum, you know, there is this carnival next Friday and... Well, I was w-w-wondering whether you wanted to go... with... me?" Kelsey's eyes widened in shock, before she wrinkled her nose and began to laugh hysterically.
Cue laughter from all other tables.
"You want me to go to a carnival with you? Don't you think I can find someone better to go with than you? And why would I even waste my time there when I could be out partying?" She continued laughing.
At this point Marcus was blushing furiously, with his head lowered, so he didn't have to look into the eyes of the girl who had just harshly rejected him.
"I heard he hangs in the lounge everyday, because he doesn't have any other friends."
"Yeah, I heard the exact same thing!"
"Also, that he plays computer games all day long. What a freak!"
Asher, one of the water polo players, walked up to Marcus and pushed to the floor.
"Piss off, little boy. Go back and do your homework." The whole crowd that had built around Marcus and the cheerleader began whistling and screaming their approval.
