Saturday

Daeng's POV:

It's a Saturday but I was already awake since 6.30am. My body clock is a blessing on days where I have morning classes but a curse on weekeds where I should be sleeping the day away especially today, since I don't have any plans.

P'Kong have gone home yesterday and everyone else seems to be busy as well. I asked P'Aim and P'Oak if they are up to hang out today which they in turn invited me to follow them to a Game Con downtown but I'm not really into those kind of things and the crowd would be a killer on weekends so I politely declined. I asked P'Tew too but he shut me down saying he's got some tutoring session or some kind of meeting with his code line senior. I even asked P'Wad his schedule for today, which was rather nerve wrecking, since I found P'Wad the most intimidating person in our batch. I was surprised at how friendly he actually was despite his scary demeanor because he actually invited me to play basketball with him to which I had to refuse. Don't get me wrong, I love sports and I'm rather athletic but I was just not in the mood to sweat it out today.

After taking a shower, I listed down the things I should get done today. I need to complete a couple of pending assignments due next week but not after writing a simple report on a research topic item. I've been asked to be a research assistant for one of the professors. As one of the 3 full scholarship students in my batch, we are entitled to assist our professor in their research but we can't actually choose the professor as the school will allocate us accordingly base on the report we submit. I hope P'Kong an di get allocated to the same professor. Yeah, P'Kong is also one of the full scholarship students despite coming from a wealthy background. Hey, how do you think we rich people stay rich, utilize all opportunity guys.

Anyways, after preparing the documents necessary to be a research assistant, it was already 10.30 am and I just remembered that I haven't had breakfast. So I went down to the nearby canteen to grab a quick brunch, I guess.

After the meal, I went to order my favourite milk tea for takeout. Yes I'm a grown man who loves milk, get over it. I was playing with my phone, oblivious to my surroundings until my order came.

"Milk tea?" a familiarly sarcastic voice came from my left side, giving a little fright.

"Sawatdee Khap, P Arthit." I 'wai'ed once I realized who it was. "Don't judge me P'" I continued.

"Here Arthit. Your usual." The aunty suddenly interrupted, handing him a cup of pink milk. Wait, pink milk?

"Don't judge and we're even." Now it was P'Arthit's turn to warn me. He took his pink milk and walked away leaving me slightly stunned.

This is great blackmail material for sure but I value my life too much. 'P'Arthit loves pink milk.' Delete from memory storage? – Nah, I'll just archive, could come in handy later on. Hehehe *Evil chuckle*

"Where's your 'bestfriend'?" Huh?

"My bestfriend?" I gave a questioning look because I was out of it for a moment and am clueless to who he was referring too.

"0062" he rolled his eyes. Aw, look at this wifey missing his husband.

"Oh P'Kong went back home yesterday. He's spending the weekends with his family." I answered and couldn't hold back the grin that's making its way out at the corner of my lips, "Aw P' do you miss him already?"

*smack* I was gifted with the sweetest smack to the back of my head right in the middle. I swear I've lost so much brain cells already this week from all the abuse my head is getting.

"Ouch P'! Why'd you hit me so hard for?" I tried to not sound so whiny but it did hurt.

"Don't push your luck kid. I was just starting to warm up to you." he glared at me. I gulped and quickly apologised. Gave him a 'wai' and took my leave. Knowing how my mouth probably has a mind of its own and would end up betraying its owner, I am not gonna risk saying anything else deserving another smack in the head.
