Second Chance

This happened after they came back from the guardian's den and before Yuzuyu comes into their world. Just clearing the setting up.

"Hemmington-san, it's time to go home." Kuroko Tetsuya, approached their green-eyed manager who was busy writing something in her notebook.

Danielle Hemmington looked up at him with a blank face. "Okay." She replies and stands up to stretch before gathering her things. After that, she stuffed her things into her bag and walked out of the room with Kuroko on her tail, silently walking while reading a book.

"Kuroko?"

Kuroko took his eyes off the book and looked at her expectantly with those sky blue eyes of his.

"Have you fell in love before?" She asks awkwardly, looking away.

Kuroko slightly smiled at her and shook his head. "No, why the sudden question, Hemmington-san?"

"Dani."

His smile disappeared and was replaced by an inquisitive look. "Eh?"

"Call me Dani. Hemmington-san sounds kinda weird." She states with a straight face.

Kuroko nodded stiffly and resumed reading his book in hand.

An awkward air suddenly surrounded them or maybe it was just Danielle who was feeling that because Kuroko was so engrossed in his book to even spare Danielle a time of his day.

"Kuroko..." Again, Kuroko turned his attention back to her.

Sighing, Kuroko closed his book and put it in his bag. "You like me, right?" Kuroko bluntly states.

This caused Danielle to froze and shook her head defensively. "Wha-What made you think that?!" She exclaims, stuttering. Puffing her cheeks out, she walked ahead stiffly causing Kuroko to gaze at her with an amused expression.

Danielle and Kuroko had a close bond eversince she transferred to their University. Kuroko considers her to be one of his best friends.

It's been months since Dani had her heart broken. Again, she found herself falling again for a passive guy like Kuroko.

She had changed so much since then. She and Aria are back to being best friends again but sometimes Dani can still be rude to her.

And it was all because of Kuroko who gave him an advice that sparked her interest on him.

Life always gives us a second chance. It's called tomorrow. Kuroko once said to her when he saw her moping in Maji's while sipping on a vanilla milkshake she ordered randomly.

At first, she didn't get how he managed to give her an advice even though he doesn't know that much about her problem.

Since then, Kuroko and her slowly became friends until best of friends. They were always together.

They had the same major. Plus, they see each other in practice for Danielle was the team's manager.

And slowly, Kuroko crept his way to her heart and threw all the hurt away.

Kuroko dropped Dani at her unit then left after that without another word.

While Dani was left devastated and irritated. She was annoyed that she can't muster the courage to confess to him earlier. After all, Kuroko already knows.

But still... her pride had kept her from admitting her feelings for him.

Those feelings that popped up from nowhere just like the man she loves.
