as the bell chimed, the florist stood straight from the cash desk and smiled to the customer. she smiled wider when she recognised you from afar. "miss haeun," she called you out. you smiled genuinely to her before you approached her.
"how are you?"
she grinned from ear to ear, "I'm good, how are you miss hauen?" you replied the same and insisted to call you by your name. "well, what would you like to have? the same pink carnations?"
you shook your head slowly, "I'm looking for a beautiful lily," you answered metaphorically which she thought you were being realistic. a lily was a symbol of a virgin woman but of course she wouldn't understand you. "I'm looking for you, silly."
"me?" she asked, "why are looking for me?" she walked away from the desk to stand in front of you and look at you clearly. you observed her face leisurely; she was a beautiful girl—deep dimples on both side of her cheeks and a sweet smile that looked like a cat.
"do you want to have a coffee with me? I don't have anyone to talk with, everyone is busy," you answered—you forced yourself to smile when you suddenly felt insecure about yourself as you stood in front of her. "I also wanted to buy you some dress! don't you think that we should be friends?"
in the end, after park dahye, the florist had her break, you brought her to the nearest coffee shop. you watched her figure from where you were and your insecurities were giving your heart ached when you just imagined her with wonwoo.
"it's okay, this is for wonwoo," you muttered to yourself before dahye came back with two cups of matcha smoothie. she sat down across from you, wearing her flower shop uniform—she still looked perfect without trying. "I'm sorry if this sound weird, but how many tubes do you have?"
dahye narrowed her eyes, confused of what kind of tube you were asking about. so you rephrase your words until she understood that you meant Fallopian tubes. "two, why?" listening to her short answer that you wanted, make you sigh in relieved. then you asked her if she had STD which made her laugh awkwardly before she said no.
you smiled weakly, you asked about her more as you tried to list down her interesting personality; she was completely different from you and wonwoo —she was an extrovert when the both of you were the opposite and you envied that. she was good in speaking, with no doubt, wonwoo would love to talk with her.
she was just perfect to look at—ambitious, funny, adventurous, optimistic and brave—completely the opposite of you. you asked her if she liked to read books, "not really. I enjoy watching movies instead," she answered with a sheepish grin.
"do you prefer wearing sexy clothes or cute?"
an effortless and harmonic laugh came out from her lips, "I think I prefer sexy," she nodded her head. you didn't know your heart hurts when imagining her wearing a sexy dress in front of wonwoo—you were close to imagine them having a moment in bed.
a sharp breath was heard from you, "I'm sorry I need to go to the toilet for a bit," quickly you stood up and walked to the toilet and entered one of the cubicle. you crouched immediately while facing the door and then you started to let out a agonising sob.
you covered your mouth with the back of your hand that was clenched in a tight fist—you wanted to be wise for your decision but imagining it kept breaking you apart. every little things that happened between you and him suddenly washed over your head like an ocean wave.
"stop crying," you cried out as if you were talking to someone, "your tears are nothing but stupid fault." while trying to hold your tears, you stood up straight and then you flipped your hair and adjusted your jeans. "it was all your fault, so don't cry."
with your chin lifted high, you walked outside the cubicle and flashed a smile as if you were fine. you went back to your seat after you washed your face. she smiled to you, oblivious of your teary eyes.
"shall we find some dress for you?" you asked her, at first she refused but after a few persuasion, the both of you walked out from the coffee shop and you drove to your favourite clothing stores. you searched for every dress that you knew wonwoo liked.
when you saw a white and blue stripped shirt with exposed shoulders—you remembered that wonwoo loved it when you were those kind of shirt. you swallowed your saliva and picked one of it from the hanger.
"dahye-ah!" you told her to wear it because you were sure that she would look beautiful with it. whilst she was at the fitting room, you found a high waist boyfriend jeans that would perfectly fit her. before she could open the door, you threw the jeans over the door, "wear this too!"
you could hear her laughing from inside—she must've felt great that you were shopping with her. you seemed to have fun too as you kept smiling to her. "It's beautiful!" she shouted from the inside.
she opened the door to reveal herself, and as expected, she looked like a real goddess. "okay, just wear it. I'm paying this for you," you didn't even think twice as you ran to the cashier and paid.
it was night when everything was finished—her hair was tied into a high bun to show more of her collarbone and her makeup wasn't too much but perfectly shining to look at. you were so satisfied, so you brought her to a fancy restaurant. "are you sure that we're going to eat here?" she asked worriedly.
"of course," your eyes disappeared into a smile. after you ordered the food, you told dahye that you wanted to go to the toilet. quickly, you headed outside of the restaurant and dialed for your husband's number. "wonwoo—"
"HAEUN?? ARE YOU OKAY? IS EVERYTHING OKAY? WHY? WHY ARE YOU CALLING ME—GOSH, I MISS YOUR VOICE WHEN YOU CALL MY NAME!"
your body was tensed listening to his loud deep voice, there was a little part of you wanted to stop your plan. however when a tear started to fall, you shook your head, "nothing, nothing's wrong. would you like to have dinner with me?"
"haeun," he muttered, "I have waited all day for you to talk to me. I was worried so much about it, do you know how hurt I am right now? and how excited I am that you're taking me on a date?" you had to blink your eyes repeatedly in order to stop your tears. you told him where you were, "I'll be there in a bit, okay. I miss you, and I just miss you so bad."
when the tears that were bottled streamed down your eyes, you immediately hung up the phone and stayed outside, crying hardly as if no one was there to watch you. you were clenching your shirt while sobbing so loudly because you just couldn't control yourself anymore.
until you saw wonwoo walked inside the restaurant, you texted dahye that wonwoo was there. and you also called him again, "can you wait for me? I was with Park Dahye earlier," you watched him from the clear window, "she will wave her hand for you."
