Chapter 6

Lauren

“I’m just starting to enjoy my drink” Celine keeps on getting my glass of liquor

“Lauren you’re drunk!” she said as she finally get my glass. “No I’m not!” I said and started to cry again. It’s true that I’m not drunk I just feel dizzy.

She sighed and hugged me. “Stop crying now, I know what you feel right now but you’re getting a lot of attention here” she stood up and held my hand “Come on I’ll take you home” she continued, I nodded.

“I’ll go to comfort room first” I said and told her to wait for me outside. When she retreated I drink the remaining liquor in my glass and ordered another one. I drink half glass and headed to the comfort room.

It wasn’t really my plan to drink but when I saw Chad talking to a girl whom I assumed was his new girl, I changed my mind.

 “Lauren I’m sorry, I really didn’t know he’s here”

“It’s not your fault Celine, and I was lying if I say that I didn’t want to see him. I really miss Chad. But he’s with someone, are they together now?”

We’re inside Celine’s car and just watching Chad and his new girl having dinner together. He’s with Claire my classmate before in college, they become friends when I told Chad that the family of Claire owns a hospital.

“Maybe they’re not. It’s just about Chad working at her hospital and they get to know each other, like that. Don’t conclude things you’re not sure about” she said and held my shoulder.

“I hope they’re not” I said and sigh. “But he looks happy”

“Come on! Everybody says that whenever they saw their ex being with somebody” she retorts. “And if it’s true that they are dating, then Chad is a total jerk! It’s almost what, just three weeks passed after he dumped you and left you!”

Celine is right it’s too early if Chad already find new one. I felt more jealous when I saw its Claire, she’s very fine and the typical girl that every guy would like.

I wipe my tears as I remembered that moment. All I wanted to do right now is to cry until there’s no more tears left.

I pick up my phone as it rings, Celine is now looking for me. I didn’t notice how long I’ve been staying here at the comfort room so I then decided to go outside.

My dizziness I felt worsen, it’s my first time to drink this much and I admit that it’s difficult to walk properly I feel like floating. As I was passing through the crowd a girl who’s happily dancing bumped me and I lose control, I’m about to fall but someone caught my arms stopping me drop at the hard tiled floor.

I smelled his manly scent when I get close to his body as he pulls me.

“Are you alright?” he asked, I frowned as I saw him.

“Tofer?” I asked completely amused “I thought you have basketball practice?” I asked again.

“Yeah, yeah I told you that, that we have practice but-”

He paused and frown “Are you drunk?” he asked and I snorted

“Reasons! Practice? So this is how you practice now” I laughed “You guys always have a good excuses huh” I said and closed my eyes I really felt woozy because of the alcohol contained me now.

I can barely see his face, I tried to walk however I lose control again I fell on his arms but then everything went black.
