Lauren

Days come by very fast. I’m inside Tofer’s car; it’s my flight to Puerto Rico.

“Seems like someone didn’t have a good sleep huh?” he teased as he put his seatbelt on.

“And who do you think would sleep well when somebody’s disturbing you, asking if she’s already asleep?” I hissed before I sighed. He laughed.

“You know what? You’re funny. You can just ignore my phone calls” he said and started driving. “What if it’s important? You might have changed your mind or anything” I replied. He just shrugged.

He got my phone number when I left it at the dining table he make fun of me at first but I did recognized him. He got my number yesterday. Yes yesterday he’s here and the other and the other day.

I don’t know what’s with him he even get close to my mom, but I think dad didn’t like the idea of Tofer being close to our family they haven't meet each other yet, but mom tells something about Tofer to my dad.

The last time I check he only owe me not my whole family.

“By the way why are you flying at Puerto Rico? Are you going to stay there for good?” he asked  ignoring his nosiness I answer him right away.

“We have family business there, my father and I managed it, but I barely go there.  My assistant will just e-mail me about the happenings there and recently she told me that there are some problems so I need to go there and check”

He just nod as I look at him.

“And I won’t stay there for good because there’s this one person that owes me, and if he didn’t do our deal he’ll definitely be sent to court” I continued.

He laughed. “Yes, yes. I know that. And that ‘person’ will surely do the said deal” he said and smile.

We became quiet for a while when he broke the silence and asked again “When you’ll be back? So I could cancel some of my activities”

“Wednesday morning, six am to be exact” I replied “But if your ‘activity’ is really that important I’ll just call George” I continued and faced him waiting for an answer.

“Nothing’s more important than this” he said matter-of-factly then winked at me and smirk. My face turned red, I admit he’s really handsome when he does that, but my Chad is more attractive than him.

I did not answer back, just looking at him.

“We’re here” he said. I removed my seatbelt.

I didn’t notice that he already get off the car to open the door for me. He’s always that gentleman, now I can’t hide my smile.

“Have a safe trip” he said casually and smile.

I can’t explain of what I’m feeling right now. Maybe I’m not used of being treated by other guys showing their care for me – aside from my brother and dad- that suddenly says something sweet that flatters me. Besides, Chad is the only guy whom I used to be with he’s my first boyfriend and hopefully my last.

Tofer

Now I always see her. She should feel comfortable being with me because we’ll be seeing each other for quite some time. I just drop her at the airport and I’m here at our house having my breakfast. I didn’t take a nap when I got home, I was thinking of how I will help her.

“Tofer you barely stayed here, are you busy practicing with your team? Always remember what the doctor told you” my mom warned me before she takes a sip at her coffee.

“No Aunt Annie, he’s dating someone” my cousin interrupted and faced me wearing her witty smile.

“Really?” my mom asked amused evident on her tone.

“No mom, it’s just somebody that want to sue me” I said nonchalantly.

“What? Why? Is it a girl? Did you try to abduct her or do something bad against her? What did I told you, if someone doesn’t like you set them free you don’t need to force h--”

I cut her misconclusions. “Mom you’re exaggerating it”

“Then why she needs to send you in court?” she asked worriedly.

“I interfere to her wedding plan like what I did every time Anna have her client, mostly they end up having the best wedding and building up a strong relationships, I even advise them like Doctor Phil” I laughed as I said the last sentence.

“I never knew her fiancé was a smartass to take that chance and dump her, it never happened before. But we already talked about this and we had a deal I told her I will help her” I explained.

“That’s the time I was sent to the hospital. I didn’t told her that you’re my cousin instead my assistant whom I dismissed from his job. Good thing Lauren is kind she didn’t interrogate me more, just comply with your deal with her because if you did not” she paused pointing me her fork and smiled.

“Farewell to your ‘career’” She sang.

“I think I need an inhaler” mom said holding her chest and breathes dramatically. “Mom everything will be fine” I said with reassuring smile.

I saw Celine shook her head with disapproving look.

I’m at my room pacing back and forth. It’s eight in the evening and I was thinking how I will help her aside from doing all the chores. I can see that she’s quite childish. We should prove to that jerk that she’s a good catch and there’s no other girl like her. But how can I turn her to that if she’s close enough to be the perfect girl “though she doesn’t know how to do the chores”.

This frustrates me. She’s just too excited to get married.
