I notice in a lot of teen fiction books that there usually is some sort of little brother or sister that in one way or another bring the two main characters together so they can fall in love ...

But let's be honest..

These "precious little things" might as well be lifeless teddy bears that make cute noises and basically just fill space and exist solely to say the good old "are you two gonna get marrwied ?"  Or even better "big brother/sister look it's your !"boyfriend
