Coffee stinging her tongue, Annabeth looked over the rim of her ceramic mug over to her partner in crime for the last 10 years. After making sure Percy had graduated the many high schools he had to attend after defeating Gaea, they sent in their applications for the college at Camp Jupiter with the gods will on their sides, they got accepted. Her degree in architecture stood proudly with Percy's degree in marine biology in their joint study down the hallway. Those four more years of college passed by in a flash, joy filled highlights caught on camera littered the small fridge behind her husband as he filled a thermos of the rest of the coffee brew sitting on the counter. Sunlight flickering in through bay windows, Annabeth asked, "Got any meetings today with the other department heads?" knowing his schedule fluctuated after taking up the mantle of the College of Marine Biology.
"A few, should just have a lunch-in to talk pompous stuff and review figures," he said sighing around a piece of toast that had littered its crumbs across his suit jacket and tie. His trademark sea green eyes and misplaced Camp Half-Blood necklace gleamed bright enough to make the professional wear seem casual.
"Looking forward to date night, " Annabeth's lips curling in mischievous thoughts of previous nights," are we?"
Oh you have no idea, Percy thought, stalking around the table to grab his wife by the hips. Hands attacking in a tickling motion, he wrapped his arms around her back before she fell off the stool, her giggles echoing around the high ceilings.
Kissing the top of her head, Percy announced, " Here's to many long nights and short work days," taking a step away, he was tugged backward by the tie caught in his wife's hands. The small thought of how did she even catch my tie, flicked it's way through Percy's head so quick, he barely had time to breathe before his wife drew him into the most amazing kiss ever (2.0).
Slow, warm, and complete, lips nibbling here and there a little, her hands digging through his previously neat blackcurls, his hands roving down her thin tank top to her lower back. Percy could have stayed in that position for hours, who needed thoughts when they had the best wife in existence? Annabeth pulled away slowly, the taste of toast and coffee on her tongue, with the smell that was pure Percy in her nose. Salt water and sea foam, a scent she could identify even in the Underworld.
"Have a good day at work, husband of mine," Annabeth spoke into his lips still inches from hers.
"Have a great day designing new buildings, wife of mine," he recited pecking her lips in between words.
Annabeth decided, yeah, it was going to be a good day.
