Doug had to run to make it in time, so he was out of breath by the time he got there.

Sasha looked at him. "Doug? Is everything okay?" she asked.

"...no..." Doug panted. "My sister...is missing...there was...the other scents..."

"Missing?" Kasai asked. "Wait...what other scents?"

"...a vampire...and a werewolf...it wasn't the ones...from Nuclear's lair...these ones...had a different smell."

"Thiiiiiis is bad." Katie whined.

"Why do things like this always happen to us?" Cory complained.

"Still can't think of a pun...something is wrong with me." Zakk muttered...but he froze and jumped out of the way as a lightning bolt struck nearby, catching everyone's attention.

"........maybe we should stop meeting in a forest...surrounded by trees..." Flash said nervously.

"Well, we're gonna have to start searching anyway.  We might as well all go home and pack some stuff so we'll be able to set up camp wherever we end up." Kasai suggested.

"Sounds like a plan to me." Streak said, flicking his tail.  "And we might wanna hurry before the storm gets worse..."

"We'll still be able to look for Orchid, right?" Doug said, whining.  He was worried about his sister, especially with the lightning storm going on.

"Of course we will." Sasha said comfortingly, gently grabbing his hand.  "We'll find both her and Lightning.  ... right, Kasai?"

"Right." Kasai agreed.  "But for now, let's go get ready.  We've got a long journey ahead of us."

The group nodded before departing to go pack.

Breeze padded back to Rainy Prairie in his husky form. He hadn't gotten anything to drink for days, and he was thirsty.

He sat down in the rain, holding his mouth open to catch the falling water, snapping at the rain drops every now and then. After he had enough, he stopped and shook his fur, flinching as he turned his body too far. It was easy to do since he was so skinny.

He went back into his human form and rested for a while, panting. He was exhausted, but he knew he didn't have much time. He had to keep moving. Who knows where the gang members could be?

He looked around, his ears twitching. He couldn't hear or see anything but the rain and the sounds of the creatures who lived in the prairie. His stomach growled. He hadn't eaten in over a month. "Might as well catch something while I can." he muttered to himself, going back into husky form.

He looked around for any small rodents and paused when he saw a mouse. It wasn't too big, but it was big enough for him. He creeped up on it and pounced, grabbing it in his mouth before he tumbled and rolled for a short disance before skidding. The mouse squeaked and squirmed in his jaws, but he quickly broke its neck to kill it before eating it.

It wasn't quite enough to satisfy his hunger, but he didn't care. He often went hungry, so he was used to it by now. He hadn't had a real meal since...

...well, ever.

Even when his parents were alive, he didn't get to eat any real food — just whatever extra food they could spare. They themselves weren't given much since they were just prisoners.

He sighed as he thought of his beloved parents, Flake and Frost.  He missed them so much.  He missed the warmth, shelter, comfort, and protection they gave.  That's all he could remember about them — well, that, and their scent.  He knew, however, that there was no chance of him being able to smell it anymore.  He couldn't feel them snuggled up to him.  He couldn't hear their heartbeats as they held him close to their chest.

He looked around and paused when he saw a small shelter.  He slowly padded over and curled up inside.  Without thinking, he closed his eyes and started to drift into a deep, quiet sleep.
