Lukas's PoV

The next day at school was a tough day. More people avoided me as the days went past. Petra was still in a coma while Axel and Olivia were nowhere to be found. And each day, I was reminded of the pain I had caused to Petra as the students in my school taunted me.

When I opened my locker, a piece of paper fluttered out and landed on the floor. Weird. I picked it up and examined it.

Lukas. Meet us outside, after school. We've got a new guy. -A.

Aiden? I crumpled up the paper and shoved it into my pocket, not really caring about the note. However, I made sure to turn up to our usual spot outside the school. Near where Jesse and Petra met. I swallowed, not wanting to relive that particular memory.

"Stop!" I turned the corner to see Maya and Gill beating up a guy. And he looked oddly familiar. Like I've seen him in town or at a house. "Hey Lukas, long time no see." Aiden said, striding over, a phone in hand and a piece of paper in the other. "Hey?" I said, cautiously.

"Anyway, I just wanted to show this to you." Aiden said and gestures to the guy, who was covering his nose, which was smeared with blood. "What did he do?" I asked. Aiden raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything. It was as if he wanted me to recognise the guy. "Nothing." Aiden shrugged.

"Anyway, Mr Jesse Jones is coming over..." Aiden smiled. "And I hope he is smarter than you." I folded my arms. "You're up to something. What?" I said, coldly. Aiden waved a hand in the air absentmindedly as if he was shooing away a fly.

"Aiden." I said, making him step back a little. "He's part of it all. It's a wonder why you cant recognise him. Use that dull rusty brain of yours Lukas." Aiden grinned. I rolled my eyes as footsteps crunched on the grass behind me. I turned to see Jesse Jones, his physic totally different from when I met him.

"Aiden." Jesse said, looking at the guy behind us. "That's the second time someone called me by my name," Aiden laughed, "As in when they first see me." I just kept quiet and wondered why was Aiden like this. One moment he was scary and the next, he was a raging lunatic. "Shut up." Jesse said, his green eyes full of hate.

"Now, now, Jesse. This is what happens when you try to double cross me." Aiden said, walking over to the guy. "Are you trying to threaten me?" Jesse suggested as Aiden held out a knife. "I'm just showing you-." He stopped when I grabbed his wrist to make him drop the knife.

I glared at him and let go. "Lukas. What happened to you, man?" Aiden laughed, making me wonder if I was doing the right thing. Jesse threw a piece of paper at Aiden, catching him by surprise. As Aiden started to unfold the paper, however, Jesse stopped him with a glare.

"Leave him alone." Jesse said, looking at Maya and Gill, who were inching forward, looking for an opportunity to get a few hits on the guy, who was starting to stand.

"Lets go." I told Aiden and the others. And surprisingly, they obeyed. As we walked away from Jesse, who was helping up the familiar looking guy, Aiden had a final word, "I won't forget this Jesse," Aiden called, throwing down his knife. "Not until what you'll find out later on."
