"Get back here, you little weirdo, we're not done with you yet," Azalea's pointed ears picked up as she scaled her way up the small cliff ahead of her. "You can't hide up there with your freaky friends forever," Ruth screamed as Azalea swung her leg up on the ridge, and lifted herself onto the stone platform.
"Why do you always have to provoke Ruth, Azalea? You know she's just going to get us back for it later," Azara groaned, glancing at his friend before burying his face back into his book.
Rolling her eyes, planting herself next to the bookworm's sister, Azalea chuckled, "At least I don't have my nose stuck in a book all day, and actually go out and get some exercise."
"She does have a really good point, big brother," Ylva agreed, noticing the annoyed look on Azara's face.
"There's no need to worry, mate, we're safe up here since a lovely someone," Azalea gestures to the tall, pearly-haired girl sitting a little ways away from the group, "Named Dexa placed a very helpful invisible barrier around the place that only we can go through!" It was Azara's turn to roll his eyes now. Dexa may be able to perform magic, but every magic user needs to rest their powers at some point. They would know that if they actually opened a book sometime, Azara complained to himself, knowing the girls would just make a snarky remark in reply.
"Ugh, all three of you, stop acting like children bickering over who gets the last sweetroll for one minute! I swear to Merlin this happens everytime we hang out," Dexa fumed, narrowing her violet eyes at the younger three.
"But Azara," Ylva started before Dexa cut her off.
"Don't you go blaming someone else for this whole thing! One more word out of any of you, and I will set you aflame," she hissed at them, and they instantly shut their mouths and looked at Dexa with wide eyes. With the exception of Ylva, whose hair turned a vibrate green in fright. Dexa was usually the quiet one of this unusual group of friends, never really raised her voice louder than she needed to be heard, but when she does raise her voice, that's a huge warning sign. She wasn't one for violence, but if she threatens to do something, she'll most certainly do it, her younger buddies knew that better than anyone.
Not wanting to anger their mystical friend anymore, Azara went back to his book, Ylva was figuring out what color her hair should be today, and Azalea was left to sharpen her petite dagger. Smiling at her accomplishment, Dexa opened her illusion spell book and practiced casting an invisible cloak around herself. The peace was sadly interrupted by booming roar, and a gigantic shadow casting over them for a splint second.
"What was that?" Ylva exclaimed, her once jade hair turning a neon yellow.
Azara looked in the direction of the village and gasped, "We need to go now!" Before the girls even had a chance to protest, Azara was already on the ground, and dashing towards their somewhat beloved home.
"What's going on?" Azalea barked, catching up with him in just a few seconds.
"Dragon, there's a dragon heading towards Skyhaven, and trust me, it didn't look like it was going there to make some friends," Azara babbled, quicking his sprint, causing Dexa and Ylva to fall behind by a few meters.
