Selenas POV:

There was nothing I could do. The more I tried to move the more exhausted my mind became, so I decided to save all the energy I could and focus on my mom. She kept talking to me like I could respond, I’m sure it was her way of copping with the whole situation. But it really meant a lot to me.

“Sorry that took so long sweetie.” My mom said as she entered the room. I knew someone was coming in before she said anything though.

My senses have been getting a lot better even in the few hours I’ve been awake.. or atleast my mind is awake since my body’s lifeless. I’ve made an imaginary room up in my head as to what my hospital room looks like, I know there’s a window because my mom walks over to it sometimes and I hear the shades hitting one another. My mom always sits on the right side of me, so I’ve pictured a comfy chair there. And then to my left I know there’s a lot of monitors that I’m hooked up too. It’s nice to try to visualize something, even if it isn’t real. I could hear the door opening even when they were trying to be quiet about it, I could even tell if someone was trying to be quiet about it or if they didn’t care.

“Brain just brought me starbucks because I can’t handle the cafeteria food here any longer.” She said as she opened the paper bag with her food in it.

I couldn’t smell anything, which was weird. I couldn’t breathe on my own, but I didn’t feel like I was lacking oxygen? I tried to keep myself entertained with my mind. But there’s only so much I can think of.

“I wanted Brian to bring you your favorite coffee, maybe the smell would wake you up. Or for when you do wake up it’d be a nice treat.” She said as I heard her beating the straw out of it’s white wrapper.

I was suprised I remembered the sound of that, but I know she always gets a hazelnut iced coffee. I tried to imagine the taste of the coffee, and for a split second I swore I could taste it.

She let out a sigh and I heard the bag rustle again and I heard her footsteps coming closer to me.

“I don’t even know if you can hear me.” She said with another sigh. I knew she was resting her hand on my arm because I could feel the same weird tingly sensation I’ve been getting when anyone touches me.

My mom kept holding her hand where it was, just talking to me. Telling me everything’s going to be okay but I wasn’t listening. I couldn’t keep Justin out of my mind any longer. I let myself drift into the darkness and explore my mind. I was dying to find a memory of Justin, anything. Something that was so memorable I could still hear his voice.

-

“Dear princess, dear darling. I promise I will be your prince charming. I know that you want the perfect wedding. You deserve a story book ending. You deserve the best baby.” Justin sang passionetly in my ear as we sat on the roof of his range rover looking over the city lights at night.

I leaned my head back on his shoulder as he tightened his grip around my torso and rubbed his cheek against mine.

“This is so beautiful and peaceful.” I said still gazing over the city.

“You have no idea.” He replied.

I didn’t understand why he said that so I turned to look at him and I noticed him staring with loving eyes right at me. I couldn’t help but blush, he was always able to make my cheeks bright red and he loved it.

“Keep singing to me.” I whispered as I grabbed his leg with mine and positioned it so I was able to tangle my legs around his. I wanted to be as close to him as I possibly could right now.
