For some reason, Luke and I made it home around three in the morning because right after the concert we hung out with Matt and the rest of his band mates. I woke up and saw that the sky is dark gray, and I actually thought that it was like six in the morning but as I grabbed my phone from my night stand it's barely noon. It feels like early evening. The winds are already ripping through the trees, making a loud listening noise.
Dragging myself out of bed, I made my way towards the bathroom to pee. The lights flicker a couple of times while I'm in there, which in turn makes me hurry through even faster. When I'm done, I immediately took the fastest shower in my whole life and grabbed the towel to dry my hair and changed into my flannel shorts and a tee.
Heading back towards my bedroom, I decided to call Calum since I missed him.
"Hey, babe." He answers on the second ring.
"Hi," I muttered. "How are you?"
"It sucks that we have to stay here for another day." I hear him sigh at the end of the line. "I was too excited to fly all the way home but there's a severe storm with hurricane winds there, right?"
"Yeah. I just woke up, so I was not really aware of the storm." I giggled.
"Did you have fun last night?" He asked in a quiet voice.
"Yes, I did." I smiled as we talked for almost an hour until my battery died. Shit. I got out of my room and called for Luke. I heard his voice in the kitchen so I headed downstairs and saw him there pouring water in the glass.
"Can I use your phone?" I asked.
"Why?" He gives me a weird look.
"Err, I need to call Calum." I bit my lip nervously.
"Here." He tosses his iPhone and I catch it on mid-air. My heart was beating fast that if I didn't catch it, Luke might kill me.
"We have the day to ourselves. I'm looking forward to the storm, laying on the couch and watching a good movie. Want to join me?" He offers.
"Sure." I said as I exit the room and called Calum telling him that my battery died so might as well I cannot contact him for the rest of the day and wished him a safe trip for tomorrow.
I strolled back to the living room seeing Luke plopped down on the couch with a bowl of popcorn. I sat down beside him as we watched a movie entitled Fast Five: Rio Heist. The movie was about cars and robbery as how I see it. VDiesel would actually ride these good-looking cars bring them to places. The whole plot off the movie is actually mind-blowing.
Out of the blue, I excused myself as I looked for some candles back in my room in case the electricity goes out. As I found the candle sticks, I walked towards the window to peak out into the angry storm. The wind must have knocked the street lamps out. It's pitch black outside.
Heading downstairs again, I sat down beside Luke as my eyes focused on the movie we're watching.
"Do you want some popcorn?" He asks as he passes me the bowl of popcorn. I grabbed some and shoved it into my mouth.
"Do you want something to eat? I think we have leftovers in the fridge." I asked in return.
"Do you even have to ask me that question?" He says sarcastically as his lips curved into a smile.
"Cool. I'll heat it up before we lose electricity." I say as I jump off the couch and walked to the kitchen. I grabbed the pasta from the fridge and re-heat it. After we finish eating the pasta, he helps me clean up the dishes. Calum calls in Luke's phone to check us up. We didn't actually speak for an hour so that in case of emergency, we have something to use. The storm is lasting longer than originally reported. Cars aren't allowed on or off the island since the causeways are flooded until the tide goes out. I peak out the window to see how bad the weather is, and our street is flooded and it looks like the lights must have gone out on the other side of the street.
