"Oh my god!" I shrieked as I slammed the book shut.

I was discharged from the hospital for almost a week now. I've been spending my summer days and nights in the house, resting - and not going outside. And it was clear that I am shutting everyone out. All except for Ashton.

I heard footsteps coming from the hallway and Ashton barged into my room with a horror expression plastered on his face. "What happened? Is there something wrong?"

For the briefest moment, I stopped. Then I began to laugh. "Nothing. It's just that I cannot fathom the ending of this book I'm reading."

"What book?"

"Allegiant," I muttered, biting my bottom lip.

Ashton rolled his eyes and sighed defeatedly, "It's weird how books make you go insane."

"Books keep me sane," I informed him, sticking my tongue out.

"Whatever you say," His lips stretched into a small smile before he left me into my own world.

The past week has been such a blur for me. So many things happened in just a blink of an eye. From the boys' California trip, the break-up, the freezer scene and such more.

Calum and Luke - the two guys I have fallen for. Summer love, I guess? But it was more like a summer love triangle than a summer love.

If you're in love with two people, pick the second one because if you really loved the first, why would you love the second?

I continued reading Allegiant until the last chapter and after a few moments, my stomach grumbled. I was indeed hungry and in need of food. So, I got out of my head and hurried downstairs bumping into Luke.

"Hi, Meg." He managed to say. My eyes drifted from his blue eyes towards his torso, then back to his eyes.

"Hi," I squeaked before I swallowed.

"Are you okay? Do you want me to grab something for you?" He offered.

"Nah," I cringed. "I'm good." It was quite obvious that I was really pushing him away. That I didn't want to talk to him after everything that happened.

"No, you're not." He took a side step, blocking my way.

"What do you want, Hemmings?" I said with an annoying tone.

He sighed defeatedly, "I know we are not in good terms. I know that you are extremely mad at me after everything that happened. I hope that in some way, we could get it back to the way it was."

I stayed silent.

"Say something, Megan. Please." Luke's tone was desperate. It was as if he's trying to tell me that he wants things back to normal.

"I can't promise anything, Luke. I've been hurt and my heart's numb. You can't break me, I'm already broken."

"Don't blame me for your heart break, you know to yourself that I wasn't the only one who hurt you." He clenched his jaw. I know he was referring to Calum too.

"Did I say something that you're the reason why I'm heart broken? I didn't, okay? I didn't ask you to blame yourself."

"Why are we fighting?"

"I don't know, okay? Everything is stressing me out. Why do you have to be so annoying? Everytime I bump into you, you would say these things and I thought that I will be okay - bu I am not!" I snapped.
