Goldy was standing in front of Fishy. His sword in the sheath, ready for combat, his fountain pen in his pocket, ready to write just about anything, and his striking facial hair ready to make the ladies swoon. With such equipment, Goldy was listening to the briefing that Fishy was giving him.
"And when you reach Gregory's place, you'll sneak around and silently eliminate him. When you return here, I'll be waiting for you with my arms and wallet open. No sarcasm or bullshit this time." - Fishy said and nodded, trying very hard not to look proud of his amazing plan.
"But hey, I'm a full-time Awesome Dude®, not an assassin. Why didn't you hire a contract killer or pretty much anyone else?" - Goldy seemed puzzled.
"Fair enough, and I'll tell you: it's because I'm certain about your loyalty and very mistrustful of outsiders. Now go, waste no time. Because of my second-in-command's incompetence, I failed to obtain any intel about the enemy's plans." - Fishy ended with his typical, concerned "fishy face".
As Goldy set out, Fishy was about to smoke a blunt when Isher came running into the office, shouting:
"Put that right down, Ian!"
"Why would I do that? I was just about to smoke.."
"Let me show you why.." - Isher took the blunt from him (much to the smoker's dismay), lit it on fire and threw it into the terrarium, where Froggy kept his geckos. The animals keeled over and died almost immediately.
"Um, you teach Chemistry so you're gonna know it - are these reptiles deathly allergic to cannabis?" - Fishy looked puzzled for the first time in months.
Isher just shook her head in disbelief of Fishy's stupidity. She then turned to him and said:
"I may have just saved your life. Don't ask me how, because I'm not in the mood to explain. You may want to return me the favor now."
"You seem to know more than me, Yvonne. What do you want me to do for you? I think you'd already asked me to make war with the mafia! That's good news because I already sent one of my fiercest pawns to eliminate their boss."
Madame Yvonne Isher looked clearly shocked. Her eyes popped out, she held against the wall with one hand, breathing very, very heavily. She was on the verge of fainting. When she finally got herself together, she stood up and turned her tone into an angrily disappointed one:
"WHAT? Call him back here right now!"
"I don't get it, you wanted the mafia dead so now here's my active effort to..."
"...I don't wanna hear about that. Stop the boy you've sent. Now. No questions."
"You really are like a real, typical woman. Changing more often than the weather. I won't change my mind, Isher. You made a request, and I made it my point of honour to fulfill it. Now get the hell out of my study, I got weed to smoke."
"You'll regret that, you old scumbag!!" - Isher shouted as she was running out of the IIIrd LO. She immediately pulled her phone out and called Vantami.
"You better be in the area, or else...."

Meanwhile, Goldy was making his way down the suspicious alleys of Cufthill. As a safety measure, he had a hood to hide his identity. The atmosphere seemed rather peaceful. Too peaceful. The silence was broken quickly, as a rapidly-moving figure tackled Goldy at his knees, leaving him with no time to react. He fell to the ground, shocked. The man pulled out a dagger and pointed it at Goldy's neck, saying: "Now, don't move, Fishy's scumbag!"
"Wait, I know this voice.." - Goldy had a brief thought. - "Vantami?! Is that really you? Where have you been this whole time?!" - he stared at his attacker in disbelief.
"No, it can't be! Goldy?!" - Vantami stood up and cleaned the dust off his dark cape, his mouth still gaping in disbelief. - "I was that close to slitting your throat, friend. I would never forgive myself for unwittingly slaying one of my best friends."
"It's fine, brother. Who sent you here, though? Because it's probably the person who is the enemy of Fishy. Apart from his brother, that it. I don't s'pose you're working for the mafia, are you?"
"I'm not. Ms Isher sent me here. Unfortunately I'm working for her now, and she clearly said she wanted you dead. Engaging you in close combat would be a death sentence, though. And apart from that, I think friendship is stronger than bonds of a contract"
Any other day Goldy would have said "Get off my face. I have job to do", but that particular day he said: "You're right, quite right!"
"Let's meet up tomorrow at the nearby café, I'm sure you've already been there. Let's have some friendly chit-chat. And you'll disclose exactly as much information as you will want to. For now, see you around!" - Vantami said, then dropped a smoke bomb and when the dust cleared, he had already been long gone.
Goldy decided to stay the night at one of his other former schoolfriends' houses.
