Anna
We drop both of the bodies off at the drop off location given to us by our boss, before jumping in the truck and heading to Orlando, Florida for our next job. Adam is the one that spoke to our boss about this next job. There is a gang in Orlando, Florida, a well-known gang called the Charcoal Cobras or the CCs in short. They've been stirring shit up for years, starting back over two centuries ago when they killed black people in the early nineteenth century. Now, they spend most of their time immersed in the drug trade. They are well known for their ignorance and hatred towards women.
Harry Burk and Blake Scott are said to be the lead Cobras. The ones in charge of the Orlando gang anyhow. Our job is to take both men out first to dismantle the gang's management, then while they're all in a flurry, we'll call in back to help take down the rest of the gang afterwards. It's a big job, the biggest I've ever worked.
The two men we're going after are murderers with an endless number of victims. We have pages and pages of their kills, but not much information on them themselves because there's none to be found. They hide themselves well. It's like they don't exist, like they're not living breathing people, but they definitely are and we finally have enough information to do something.
This isn't going to be like any of our previous jobs. Sure, we've taken out gang leaders before, but not like this. Not two of the biggest, baddest gang leaders in all of North America. We know the risks, but we also know that we can't let these two murderers kill any more people, especially innocent people.
"I'll watch Harry Burk. He is older, wiser, and probably more hardcore than the other guy. You'll watch the kid. What was his name? Blake? You're on him," Adam explains while I drive. "We don't have pictures, so I'm going undercover to get information. Boss's orders."
My gaze flashes from the road to his face. "What?! Undercover in a gang? No way, you'd have to be idiotic."
"We don't know who is who. I'll have to go in and get the inside scoop. I'll get initiated into the gang and-"
I cut him off. "Get initiated into the gang? Are you nuts?! What if they have you kill someone or something? You never know what the initiation could be!" I shout angrily. "Do you want that on your conscience? An innocent life?"
Adam waves it off. "Nah, don't you worry. I've done this before. You forget that I've been at this longer than you, and I'm better at it. I've done things that you'll never have to do. It's not the first time I've done something like this."
I shake my head in disbelief.
"Look, I'll use a different last name, get different identification and shit. It'll be fine, girl, don't worry about me," Adam tries with a half-smile.
I'm not sure I should believe him, but he's right. He can do this; he has to do this, so we can do this job. It's that or we let them continue killing innocent people. I give in with a sigh and a nod. "Fine, but if something goes sideways, you're getting out and we're not doing this."
Adam looks at me like I've lost my mind. "If something goes sideways, you're killing the bastards without me. That's our job."
I don't say anything because I don't know what to say.
We pull up to a motel. "We can't risk getting seen together, so you stay here. I'll stay at the other end of town. I'll get ahold of you when I have more information. Don't do anything until I give you the information. Just hang out and go...shopping or something," Adam muses, then under his breath he mutters, "Whatever women do in their spare time."
