Chapter 1

September 1, 1971

Eliza's POV

I was waiting for Lily and Petunia, today is the day we went to see Lily off, since she was going to a wizarding school. This is also the day I was leaving for America, to Camp Half-blood.

Then I saw him, Severus. That's all I knew about him, he still had pale skin, but his hair was about half an inch longer since the last time I saw him.

I had always thought he was cute, but it seems that Lily has caught his fancy. I had only talked to him a couple of times, he only asked me where Lily was, and that was that.

"Your Lily's younger sister right?" He said, I was startled, it was the first time he had spoken to me. Other than asking me where Lily was, of course.

"Uhh, yes. Are you looking for her?"

"No, I wanted to talk to you, and ask you something."

"O-okay,"

"Your not normal are you?"

I was shocked, how long had he known? Could he have known since the first time we've met?

"W-what do you mean? I'm perfectly normal." I stuttered, you can tell I was nervous.

He just smiled, it wasn't the smug one he always had, it was a soft, genuine one.

"Your a demigod, your kind is extremely rare... Why are you here?" He asked, you can tell he was confused.

"Uhm, I'm leaving today, to learn how to fight. Right after we see Lily off, I'll be gone too, I'll be back for the summer though." I explained, sure maybe it was dangerous, but if Lily trusted him, I trusted him.

"A camp? So it's like Hogwarts then?"

"Yea, kind of."

"Your special, I would like to talk to you, to know you, when we finish our 'special' schools."

"Well you two are sure getting along." A voice snapped, then I realized it was Petunia. Ever since we found out the I was a demigod and that Lily was a witch, she didn't like us very much.

"Go away you filthy muggle!"

I was surprised them at he snapped like that, I had always thought that he was calm, an dthat barley anything got to him.

"H-how about we calm down? Please?"

"... Fine, only because your a demigod, and that your also... 'Special',"

I lightly blushed, maybe he didn't mean for it to be a compliment, but it sounded like one. I never had a boy compliment me before. Then I heard Petunia scoff,

"Well I'm going, have fun with the freaks!"

I felt sad, knowing that insult was directed to me and Lily.

"Don't talk to them that way! You have no right to be talking to them that way!"

Now Petunia and Severus were arguing, then Lily came out of the house. She looked shocked, and worried.

"Severus? Why is Eliza crying? And why are you yelling at Petunia?"

"Big sister! Petunia started yelling at me and Severus, and he didn't like her yelling at me, so he started to yell back." I explained.

Then Petunia got angry, she started yelling.

"DON'T YOU DARE BLAME ME YOU LITTLE FREAK! IT'S NOT MY FAULT THAT YOUR FRIENDS ARE WEIRDOS AND FREAKS TOO! JUST LIKE YOURSELF!"

That's when mother and father came out of the house, looking worried.

"Petunia? What's wrong? Why are you yelling at Eliza?" Mum said, then that's when she noticed me crying, Severus looking angry, and Lily looking worried.

"Eliza? Sweetheart what's wrong? Did this boy make you cry?" Dad said, concern laced his voice.

"N-no, in fact he was helping me. Petunia got mad and started yelling at me, then Severus stood up for me." I said, telling the truth

"Petunia! It is very rude to yell at your little sister like that! And at her friend too!" Mother exclaimed, you can tell she was embarrassed.

"No, it's okay Mr and Mrs. Evans, just a small misunderstanding." Severus said, kindly.

Then he turned to me, and stuck out his hand.

"Let's start over, I'm Severus Snape, it's nice to meet you."

Then I shook his hand, and said.

"My name is Eliza Evans, it's nice to meet you too, Severus."

Little did I know, that those words would change my world, forever.
