On a Saturday in August I woke up at 6 AM and rolled over to turn my cellphone of, which was apparently my alarm clock too. I just wanted to sleep for like 5 more minutes, but someone next to me decided it was time to get up.
"OI, Juliette! Get your lazy arse up! We have to be at the hairdresser's place in like two hours and we both need to take a shower before leaving", Moni giggled next to me. Oh right. Big day today.
Yes, it was finally here. Moni's and Luke's wedding was today. Moni stayed at my place over night and Ash at Luke's because it is bad luck for the groom to see the bride before she walks down the aisle.
"Okay, I'm up", I groaned getting out of bed and threw my hair into a messy ponytail. "How about you get a shower and I'll make us some breakfast?"
"Sounds wonderful!", Moni cheered and made her way to the bathroom, locking the door behind her. I walked into the kitchen and turned on the stove and the coffee maker. Since it was her wedding day, I thought it would be nice to have a glass of sparkling wine. My mum always used to do that on my birthday and every other important occasions, so it kind of became some sort of ritual in my family.
At 6:30 Moni was all done and we sat down at the table to eat breakfast. I prepared some bacon and eggs, yoghurt, fruits, pastries and a lot more. I sipped on my coffee, while she buttered her bread, when she suddenly looked up to face me.
"What if this isn’t the right thing to do? What if Luke and I are only meant to be boyfriend and girlfriend? What if we get divorced in a few years?", she asked me her eyes wide open in shock.
"Hun, calm down. You two are meant to be and I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. You guys will have adorable children and grandchildren. I know it might be hard sometimes, but you two love each other with all your hearts", I told her, making her smile. "And just so you know, I'm going to drag you down the aisle if you try to chicken out."
"I promise I will not", she said, taking a sip from her coffee. "And you should take a shower now. I'm going to clean this mess here up. And don't tell me not to, cause then I'll be over thinking everything so I want to be occupied."
I sighed getting up from my seat and walked upstairs again to take a quick shower. After I was done and dressed nicely, I decided to call Ash and remind him that he had to be at the mansion at 2 PM.
Since it was only 7:15 in the morning, he didn't pick up so I left a voice mail.
"Morning handsome. Hope you slept well. Moni and I are now on our way to the hairdresser and I just wanted to remind you that you have to be at the mansion at 2 PM sharp, okay? Oh and don't forget to pick up the cake. I love you."
The wedding was going to be amazing. It was quite nice outside today and we spent the last few days decorating the mansion in green and white, which turned out really great. Everything was done and now the only thing that has to get done was the actual wedding.
I grabbed my bag from my room and told Moni to get up from the couch, where she was watching a re-run of 'America's Next Topmodel'.
We made our way to the car and it only took us about half an hour to get to the hairdresser, where we met up with Emily and Alex. They both looked kind of tired, which was normal. Lexi wasn't used to getting up so soon, cause she and Michael usually slept till noon. Emily had the night shift at the hospital, being an intern, and had only gotten a few hours of sleep herself.
We walked into the little shop and each of us was lead to a stool, where the people working there began to do our hair, make-up and nails. I felt a bit like a princess, don't ask me why, but I did.
