While writing this series, I have thought "What if I suddenly just stop working on this like all the other stories I've written in the past or what if I simply lose interest or I have no more inspiration to write this story anymore," and with each time I think that, I wait, knowing that when I wait, I remember why I'm writing this series and how much I love doing so because I wait; I have patience. With that, I realize that if I stop writing this, I would have nothing to look forward to each Thursday during my high school life. There would be no writing club whatsoever, and I couldn't do that to myself, nor Fang, nor anyone else who decides of join this club. I think of the potential that this series has and I remember how long I have been working on it. So please, I beg of you, give it time, don't give up on it if it brings you joy, or even sadness. I promise that it will be worth it in the end, I promise. Everything will become worth it, even if it's painful.

It had been a week since Fawn finished her training. Currently, she was preparing for the first trial to compete to be in the Guard. As she looked around, she saw that she was the only female in a room full of men. Some gave her looks of disgusts, and others gave her a look of sympathy, which made her a nervous wreck. Her whole body was shaking to the point where she couldn't think straight. Panic rose inside her as she felt a small tear fall. She heard people snickering near her. She looked up as they drew near her.
"Look, the elf is crying!" One said.
"She looks so weak!" Another said. "She'll never make it in!"
The others in the group laughed. Wiping the tears from her face, she stood up in a flash, grabbed the collar of the what looked like the leader and punched him square in the nose just as her name was called to try out.
"Next time, don't mess with a woman, she might as well beat your sorry ass," She stated simply as she walked off, sniffling slightly.
As Fawn neared the entrance, she pulled out her sword. She knew what she was going up against, so she knew that she had to appear to be calm when she entered the arena. Fawn has turned the corner when she saw the outline of the gate to the arena. She let out a shaky breath before she stopped before the gate, waiting for it to be raised. From inside, she heard someone talking, all Fawn could make out was that it was male and nothing more. That is when she heard the gate creak open. She entered the arena as the gate opened.
The crowd gasped as they saw what came out, so they started to boo and spit curses at her, while some cheered and exploded with joy. Fawn had looked down in mock shame, letting her long hair fall in front of her face. Fawn was smiling underneath her curtain of hair as they continued to shower hate on her.
"Time to show them some magic," She said to herself as the first creature was released.
It instantly saw the Hybrid and charged at her, and she let it. The beast picked her up in his horns, which then flung her across the arena, causing dust to rise into the air. The crowd watching cringed, knowing that it must have been painful. As the dust cleared, they all saw that Fawn kneeled on the ground, sword in hand, ready for the next attack. Those who were in the seats closest to her saw the shadow of wings coming out her shadows back and that her eyes had turned white. Her wings spread like an eagle coming down on its prey. Fawn, waking from her trance, blinked, and her white eyes and wings disappeared and focused on the beast before her.
It charged again, angry that it had not killed the Hybrid yet. Fawn got up and ran at the beast, lodging her sword in the beasts' skull. The audience, as well as the judges, were impressed with her marksmanship. Fawn pulled her sword out of the creatures' monstrous head and raised it in the air, earning a cheer from a riled audience. She smiled, but it soon faded as two lions appeared in her vision. They looked at her as if she was food.
