I've hardly been here for three months and I'm absolutely done with this school. Alex wasn't expelled or anything, just suspended for a day. I should press charges on him. But that would be a lot of drama and I can't take anymore.

Pony and I were walking to first period and he seemed a bit off. I'm not sure how, he just seemed different. More tough... I don't know, maybe. His chest was puffed up and his shoulders were broadened, like he was ready for a fight.

I never want to see him fight again. I hate fights. There pointless and stupid and do no good. Also, I don't want to see him get hurt.

The day went on kinda normal. Except for the fact that Pony was uptight. Plus, everyone's been looking at me weird. Some of the guys are eyeing me in a very peculiar way and I don't like it. Some of the girls are acting like I have the plague, or they're just being plain bitchy.

At lunch it was just Pony and I. Katelynn was out sick and normally brought a friend or two to eat with us and they were quite nice. But now they look at us like dirt. I hope Alex didn't say anything that would cause people to act like this.

As Pony and I were walking home it was quiet, too quiet. Even for Ponyboy.

"What's wrong?" I finally asked.

"Nothin'..."

"Please tell me."

"It's just I see the way people are looking at you. like they know something we don't. I see how the guys look at you like your a piece of ass and the girls starrin' like you just stole their boyfriends. I don't like it." Damn, when Pony wants to talk he can talk.

"Don't let it upset you, I noticed it too but I'm not gonna let it bother me." I said soothingly rubbing his arm.

The walk to my house took about another ten minutes. Neither of us said a word to one another.

Walking up to my house I noticed a car parked out front. I didn't recognize it at first but then just when I thought I couldn't take anymore shit, they show up.

"Pony, I'll talk to you later." I said while stopping him before he can walk up any further towards the house.

He looked at me suspiciously and gave me a kiss on the cheek and walked to his house. I waited till he was out of sight to run into the house.

When I walked inside it was dead silent, and that bothered me.

"Well hello dear.." I heard my mothers menacing voice.

I looked at her and started to say something when she walked up to me and slapped me across the face, knocking me to the ground.

I could feel the tears stinging in my eyes, begging to fall.

"You piece of shit! You and your goddamn waste of a brother left this house a fucking mess!" my mother yelled at me and lifted me by my hair.

She jerked my hair hard and through me towards the stairs. I hit my head on the way down and good god was it hurting. My mother walked away to the the kitchen muttering about how much of a piece of shit I was.

I got up and walked up stairs to go find Johnny. He was sitting in the corner of his room with a bloodied lip and swollen eye. I ran over to him, kneeling down to get a better look.

"Oh Johnny," I said while grabbing his face gently to get a better look.

"Liz, don't baby me, I'm fine. look at you!" he said while touching my temple then showing me his bloodied finger.

I touched my temple and saw how much blood there was. Dammit.

I cleaned Johnny's lip and my head the best I could. It was quiet downstairs for a minute until I heard loud footsteps coming up the stairs. The door burst open to reveal my father.
