Chapter Ten

Chapter ten: leaving

I wake up to find myself under the covers in the hotel room an someone's arm wrapped tightly around me. It's James'. I lay there for a minute because I don't want to wake him up and I just want to enjoy the moment. I grab his arm and pull it closer to me and he pulls me closer to him.
"I didn't know you were up?" he whispers in his hot, sexy, morning voice. I smile and turn to face him.
"Well I didn't know you were up either." his blonde hair is all messed up. Bed head isn't his friend this morning, but lucky for him I think it makes him look even hotter!
"I've been up for a few hours." He says cockily and his smile widens.
"Why didn't you wake me!" I demand and turn back to look at the ceiling.
"Because you looked so peaceful and I loved it." I tilt my head to look at him and glare at him.
"Seriously?"
"Yep. I was just sitting there looking at your beautiful face. And loving every minute of it." he becomes serious again an so do I. I look back up at the ceiling.
"What do they want you to do?"
"Huh?"
"What do those people want you to do?!"
"Oh, uh" he turns and looks at uh ceiling too. "They have a job for me that's top secret."
"Tell me!" I demand. "Don't even think about going and not telling me where or what you are doing."
"You won't like it." he says closing his eyes.
"I don't care! Tell me!"

(James' P.O.V.)

"I am going to Hawaii to meet people and go under cover to get information from them." It wasn't completely a lie, I was going to Hawaii and I was getting information from people, but I didn't say how. I don't want her to know what I did and what I have to do now.
"Okay well that doesn't seem so hard. Why couldn't they send someone else?"
"Because, I've already been this person before and they need me again." All true.
"Oh. Well, why can't they meet someone new?" I stand up and start to get impatient with her questions and so I decide to let it out with out really telling her everything.
"They can't use anyone else because of who it is I'm meeting." I can't tell her because she would hate me forever. And I can't have that. The 'people' I'm meeting is actually a seventeen year old girl who is practically in love with me and because her father who has a lot of power in the Exanton Mr. Blight sends me in to get information from the house. Her father has secret meetings at night and they can't have an agent in there at night because of the super security during those hours but during the day is easy, but at night it's tricky. That's where I come in. So to have me there at night someone has to let me in... and I sometimes have to do things I don't particularly enjoy... with his daughter. I try to get here off the subject and say, "I'm leaving today."
"What?!!!" She half yells and sits up straight in the bed.
"You will stay with my dad and your friends until I get back then I'll take you away from here where you'll be safe."
"But-" I cut her off.
"But nothing! I need you safe. promise me you will stay safe with my dad."
She pauses and looks at me sadly and huffs out, "fine."
"My dad will pick you up at noon. Go take a shower and clean up before he gets here." I say and she does what I ask. I watch her walk to the bathroom and shut the door. As I hear her turn the ware on I grab my bag of clothes I packed last night and head for the front door. I hate leaving her like this but she won't let me leave any other way. I hear her try to muffle a scream as she touches the water and I know this is my fault. I bite my lip as I open the front door and lock it behind me.
It's time to become James Wilkinson.
