"And this is where we're shooting the rap parking lot scene." He said showing me around this parking lot some where in Detroit.
"Wow, are you excited to be playing this role?" I asked as we were both sitting on the hood of his Escalade just chilling and blasting the radio from the car with the doors open so we could hear.
"Yeah, I've never really acted before so it's something new that's for sure." He explained.
"Well I can't wait to see the movie you're gonna be great I just know it." I smiled at him.
"Thanks, so what have you got planned in life, ya know besides criticizing folks at 7 -eleven." He asked.
"Well..I don't really know, I mean I did want to go to college, but money's been so tight and so many things have been happening.."
"Like me?" He asked.
I laughed, "Yeah like you, but I don't know..I kinda wanted to be a counselor for people who need help in their marriages or family..I just wanna make a difference in this world, and if it means helping just one broken family a day, then so be it." I explained feeling happy just thinking about a future where instead of being chased by crazy gangsters and mobsters I could actually have a life helping others.
"Wow that's dope, that's actually amazing." He said sounding a bit taken aback by my dream.
"So..Marshall have you ever dated a black girl before?" I asked genuinely curious if this was his first time dating out of his race, I mean I of course had dabbled in actually many different races going to a very diverse school and being considered really pretty even though I didn't really see all that myself.
"Actually no, I dated a black girl once before, she was considered the most beautiful person of color in the entire school and she just so happened to be interested in rap, and in me..so I dated her..but I actually feel kinda bad cause the only reason I even dated her was because I was trying to make Kim jealous." He honestly said a look of guilt on his face taking a hold for a split second before he shook himself out of it. "But she got me back though, cause she dumped me." He said.
"Wow..well that's quite the story." I said.
"But i'm completely over Kim, and right now I can honestly and genuinely say that i'm really interested in you." He smoothly replied.
A small smile formed in the corner of my lips and then a bit of a frown remembering that there was no way this relationship could work. Not with Murphy Fox around..but then..I still had to string him along for my boss wouldn't rat me out.
How did my life get so crazy?
"Hey you alright?" Marshall asked catching me in deep thought.
"Yeah great..hey can we go eat now?" I asked changing topic.
"Sure let's go." He said scooting off the hood and then holding out his arms for me to go in for he could lift me down from the hood since it was kinda high up.
"Thanks, what a gentlemen." I commented seeing a small smile form only for him to quickly remove it with biting his tongue and then giving a friendly eye roll.
We both got back in the car and then we headed out to this Coney Island which had like one car parked there.
And only like 4 people in there when we entered.
