It had been a good 6 years since I had seen Marshall since that entire thing with Murphy Fox, I had quit my job at 7-Eleven and started college to become a marriage counselor, I had gotten my associates degree in Communications and had finally become a Marriage Counselor, I had kept in contact with Angel and the rest of the girls who had helped me take down Murphy Fox, and to my surprise people still recognized me really well after the entire incident, Every where I went people would be like, "Is that 7-Eleven girl?" "That the girl that took down Murphy Fox?" It was still so overwhelming, but it was calming down a little bit more.
I would see Marshall every once in a while doing interviews on TV, promoting his new music or whatever, he seemed as if he was happy and that's all I really wanted for him.
I wanted to be just another faze in his life that he looked back on and hopefully he remembered all the good times we had instead of the bad.
We each had our own lives now, and for now I was pretty content with that.
"And when you look at your husband what do you see?" I asked my client in front of me who who was profusely crying while she refused to look at her husband next to her who had cheated on her with 3 different women and begged that they did marriage counseling before divorcing.
I handed her a tissue before she spoke.
"I see our entire future, and what it could be, but-but I just don't know how we're gonna get through this." She sobbed.
Just then the timer had went off indicating that it was time for their session to end, "Okay Mr and Mrs. Adams, that's our session for today, but I want you both to think about what you see when you look at each other, everything you feel, and every potential future between the two of you okay?" I instructed.
They both nodded, "Thank you Ms. Collins." The saddened wife sobbed as they both stood up gathering their things and leaving the room for today.
I released a long sigh that I could finally have a break and maybe even squeeze a lunch in, that was until my phone rang.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hey girl it's me!" Angel enthused on the other end.
"Hey." I said tiredly.
"Wow, you sound worse than Ms. Castillo after she broke her hip that one time at the convenience store down our block." Angel observed.
"Long day." I said brushing off her odd statement of comparison.
"Well perk up, because you gotta help me find a wedding dress." She enthused.
"Angel, can't this wait until this weekend your not getting married for a few months now." I reminded her.
"I know, but I really wanna get the dress shopping out the way, I mean it's not every day you get to marry a handsome, millionaire rapper." She enthused.
