She woke up the next morning still feeling eerie about everything that had happened and she also felt grief realizing that he would never come knocking on her door asking her for money again.
Was it her fault?
She knew it wasn't but it didn't help that she didn't give him the money and she sent him to the church to get it which totally didn't go the way she had thought it would.
She let out a giant sigh and went to the bathroom to get dressed she was finally ready after a long shower and much thought and headed towards the door only to be approached by like a dozen police officers outside her door.
Oh great..
"Excuse me miss..but did you know the man next door to you?" A cop asked his name on his badge that seemed to read Wilson.
"No officer Wilson, I didn't know the person who lived right next door to me." She said sarcastically rolling her eyes at some of the dumb questions police asked.
"Just asking Mam, not everyone talks to their neighbors." He said his tone stern probably annoyed by how sassy she was.
Like she actually cared.
"So your aware of what happened.." He said seeming as if he was preparing himself to tell her if she didn't already know.
"Yeah...he was killed by a Loan Shark." You said.
"Ah, so you know why he was killed, do you mind filling us in?" The officer said sounding intrigued by the information that he didn't know.
"I don't know really..but I believe he owed money..look i've got to go to work I can't stay here chatting all day." She explained.
"Well it would help us catch the man who killed your friend quicker if we had a lead." He said as if it was a bribe and not an offer.
Something was shady about this cop...she didn't know what..but she felt something was off.
"How do you know the loan shark was a man and not a woman?" She questioned.
"Well usually loan sharks are men right?" He said.
She was almost offended at the sexist comment..but then realized it was probably a good thing ladies didn't have such a poor reputation..
"This is what's wrong with the world, men are the cause for everything! If a lady wants to be a loan shark she can be a loan shark!!" She defended knowing she wasn't making any sense but hey maybe she could ease herself out of this situation.
"You say that as if it's a good thing Ms..."
"Call me 7-eleven girl..everyone does." She said seeing his face twist up in a odd way.
"Your the 7-eleven girl?" He said his tone in disbelief.
"Yes..?" She said confused as to why he looked so angry all of a sudden.
"Your the crazy woman everyone talks about around the streets, apparently you have so many verbal abuse charges I could lock you up for a good 2 years." He said seriously.
Well this took a turn.
"Um, first of all you have no proof that I did any emotional damage to people and second of all I have you know I have helped better these people for they can have better lives." She defended appalled that this man was suggesting that she was a nuisance and menace to society.
"Well I won't look into it if you give me a name as to who you think the killer is." He slyly said.
Was he seriously blackmailing me??
